Chapter 53

" Team RWBY, once again qualifies for the finals as team ZLVR is officially out. It seems today the blackbirds are not bringing as much fortune as they were said to do." Weiss let out a breath as she could finally rest. Vlad was on the ground, already groaning and muttering. When they made it back to their seats, the two sisters had  a few questions for them already.

" Blake, are you okay?" Yang was the first to speak after seeing the distress in her eyes when he used his semblance. " I saw what happened. But there wasn't any apathy."

" I'm fine. Really." She smiled at her to reassure the blonde. " It felt like, he drained me. Literally."

" He did. But he can't be an apathy and well, aphathies drain our will. Remember?" She reminded them.

" So he can drain aura." Weiss concluded and they agreed. " That girl, Riza, she helped me." She confessed.

" She did?" Yang said raising a brow.

" She told me to knock him in the back of his neck, specifically. It worked but why did she help me..." Ruby spotted the two who were on their way to their seats.

" There they are!" She said in her high pitched voice. " Let's go ask them." Vlad looked down as Riza lad them back. He was ashamed of his own abilities, loathed them even. Riza gave him a quick glance and thought of what to say. " Hi there!" Ruby said appearing in front of them. Riza gave a small shout as Vlad screamed.

" Ruby!" Weiss called.

" Uh, sis. I think you should apologise for scaring them." Yang told her. Ruby apologised awkwardly and joined her team. " So, Riza and Vladmir?"

" That's us. You can drop the act, we know you got about us. Or rather," She turned to Vlad just as he took a step back in attempt to escape. He looked terribly uncomfortable but some things must be done. " Well, Vlad. You should tell them." He looked at them nervously and struggled to speak.

" I...I'm so sorry. I didn't meat to feed on your aura. I really didn't, honest! It's just well, with the whole 'spur of the moment' thing I-I just reacted. Okay?" He ran his hand through his hair as he spoke, mostly covering his mouth to hide his fangs. " Look, I know you guys went through a lot the last couple years and I just, I..." A hand patted his shoulder firmly as Zack and Alistor came to his aid.

" I don't like people picking on my team." Alistor said in a low tone. Zack recognises the four instantly like how Owen did, matching their nicknames she gave them.

" Chill, Alistor. So, hey, nice meeting you. It's twice with Yang but minus the punch in the gut." He gave them a playful smile and a small chuckle. " You see, dear Vlad here, has a condition. He's-"

" PTSD." Riza answered quickly, cutting him off. " Don't complain, he's my partner after all. He made a solid promise on his mother's name to never, ever bring harm to any innocent. Mainly women and children. Let's just say that there some issues which are quite....delicate. Vlad, I won't tell unless you want me to."

" I didn't have a very good father." He stated before deciding that he'd rather not talk about it himself. Zack leads him away for a drink as Alistor and Riza explain to them.

" His dad's a murderer. His victims consisting of mostly women. Paralysing them and killing them after doing whatever he wanted. Vlad's mom was against it but what can she do? One day they had a bigger fight than usual and soon she was dead. Vlad was there and that's where he found out about his semblance. You could say that he snapped on that day. That's all I can say about it. Any grizzly detail is of no importance." Riza informed them. They seemed to symphatise with team ZLVR, with everything going on, it must be a bit difficult to deal with. Yang understood him the most even if it was different, she understood his fear.

Zea held another meeting to discuss the latest intel. Which can be said as quite concerning for most. They all waited patiently for Qrow and the Sparrow's arrival. Qrow came in first, from the door this time and he held it open as team RWBY, ZLVR and JNOR stepped into the room with the Sparrow following behind.

" What is this?" Heather asked, puzzled over the children's sudden involvement. " Sparrow?" Veena took off her binds so that the spirits can be seen.

" They were always involved, longer than I have in this life. Everyone, this is my faction." She said as Ruby's eyes scanned the room. " They know, and now you know. Introductions will have to wait, the intel?" She glanced at Zea.
