Let Me Love You

Chapter 3

        We had been rehearsing the dance routine for about three hours when I decided we deserved a break. We weren't far from perfecting the routine considering we had such little time to work on it. I walked over to my bag leaving Kevin and Jenna to have a conversation, grabbing out my towel, water bottle, and cell phone. I wiped my face with my towel and then turned back around with my water bottle in hand back over to Jenna and Kevin, who was giving me a weird look.

"I would have thought you worked here enough times to know they supply all that stuff!" He remarked.

"Yeah I know I just like bringing my own stuff," I smiled.

"Why?" He laughed.

"I don't know!" I laughed back.

"Well I'm happy for you to bring your own stuff 'cause you have the best body spray!" Jenna laughed, slinging her arm around my shoulders.  

        The three of us were stood around laughing and joking when my cell phone rang. I looked at the screen already knowing who it would be, I looked up at Jenna who also already knew who it was.

"Boyfriend?" Kevin asked trying to keep up.

"Yep," I said looking up at him.

"What are you gonna do?" Jenna asked looking sympathetic.

I just shrugged my shoulders, really not knowing what to do.

"Do you want me to answer it?" Jenna asked.

"That won't do anything, he will just keep calling until I talk to him." I sighed.

Just as I was about to answer the call Kevin had an idea.

"What if I answered it?" He suggested.

Jenna and I just both exchanged looks.

"If another guy answered it maybe he would feel intimidated and back off!" Kevin explained.

"Yeah that could work, but don't tell him you work together tell him you guys are good friends!" Jenna said.

"Ok," I said handing Kevin my cell phone.

        Kevin hit the answer button on my phone and put it to his ear.

"Hello?" Kevin said, looking at me and Jenna.

"Um hi? Is Ellie there?" Ryan asked, obviously not expecting a guy to answer my phone.

"She can't come to the phone right now," He said looking back at me, I just smiled to reassure him.

"Ok, well who the hell are you?" Ryan asked, anger slightly stirring in his voice.

"I'm a good friend of Ellie's," he told him looking at Jenna for approval, who gave him a thumbs up.

"Oh really! Well I'm her boyfriend so you better not be too good of a friend!" Ryan started to almost shout.

"Well from what I've heard your a pretty shit boyfriend!" Kevin replied, anger starting to boil up in him, which surprised both me and Jenna.

"What do you know!" Ryan was now shouting down the phone.

"Enough to warn you not to call Ellie again until you learn how to treat a woman properly" Kevin shouted back hanging up on Ryan.

Me and Jenna both stared at Kevin in shock, both of us never seeing this side of him and Jenna sees him pretty much every day.

"What?" Kevin asked, handing me back my phone.

"That was freaking awesome!" Jenna exclaimed.

"Well I don't think he'll be bothering you for awhile," Kevin smiled at me.

"Thank you!" I said smiling.

"No problem, it was kind of amusing actually!" He laughed, making me and Jenna laugh.

        Just then my phone buzzed and when I looked it was a text from Ryan saying,

"I have no clue who your little friend was but I'll be seeing you later at your house!"

I handed my phone to Jenna while Kevin looked at it over her shoulder.

"Well it's decided! The three of us are going out tonight then you're spending the night at mine!" Jenna exclaimed, looking at me.

Kevin just looked really angry.

"Don't worry Kev! We thought you were intimidating," Jenna said laughing to try and brighten the mood.

"That's not it!" Kevin exclaimed, getting more angry.

"What is it then?" I asked.

"He's a dick with no respect towards woman!" He explained.

"Yeah so he's not worth getting worked up over, and besides the women he hooks up with know he's not single so thery're just sluts," I tried to calm him.

"Yeah but your not a slut and you're getting hurt the most when you've done nothing to deserve it!" He said getting worked up again.

        I looked over at Jenna who just shrugged not knowing what to do.

"Kevin I'm fine really! Look you can look out for me all night if it makes you feel better." I said smiling trying to cheer him up.

"Yeah Kev, you can even sleep at mine too if it makes you feel better then we can carpool here tomorrow! In fact we should just do that anyway because it sounds fun!" Jenna said with a big smile on her face.

"See Kevin it will be fine!" I assured him, wrapping my arms around him to hug him because I wasn't one hundred percent sure if he was ok.

"Ok!" He smiled hugging me back.

For someone who had been dancing and sweating for three hours he actually smelt pretty good. The thought soon passed though because Jenna soon came up to us to join in the hug so we made room for her, all of us laughing.
