Dark Magician Girl's POV

[2 hours later]

I stood guard as my teacher and my master both slept peacefully, it was now 3:00 am. I perked up on high alert as I heard footsteps coming down the hallway. I poked my head out the door and immediately pulled back as a large black figure stalked down the hallway on all fours. I ran over to my teacher and roughly shook him awake "what? What's wrong?" He asked confused. I shivered as I could feel the creature's eyes focused on me, I froze with fear. My teacher noticed as he looked over my shoulder at the creature now staring at him with crimson eyes and sharp yellow teeth. I entered the room and turned it's attention to our sleeping master. My teacher threw a crumpled ball of paper at the creature to get it's attention on him, it worked a little too well as the creature launched at him. It grabbed him by his leg and dragged him into the darkness of the hallway. "Sensei!" I shouted frightened before he disappeared back into his card. I screamed as the creature launched at me, it slashed its claws against me forcing me back into my card.

Yugi's POV

I awoke to Dark Magician Girl's screams of pain. I looked around and noticed that the two cards on the nightstand now had both Magicians back in them. I stared at the creature responsible for sending them back to their cards. It hissed before disappearing back into the darkness. I realized why as I looked at the time '4:00 am' it was a demon that had its time wasted by my Dark Magicians. I picked up both Magician cards "thank you" I said before placing them back in my deck. +they stalled the creature long enough to keep you alive+ *their sacrifice was not in vain* <at least the creature didn't target their cards> 《it couldn't, I placed a ring of salt around their cards》 <smart> *you also placed a bunch of Karibohs and multiple cards around them* 《just in case it was not a demon who targeted their cards, the Karibohs would automatically activate if an unfamiliar presence stepped too close》 *good, now go back to sleep. You're still sick and need rest* 《(cough)mother hen(cough)》 *what?* 《I said ok》 +that is not what you said+ <I can't tell what you said> *grrrr, just go to sleep* I curled up and went back to sleep.

[12:00 pm]

<little prince?> I shivered and pulled my blanket up. <little prince?> I struggled with the decision of acknowledging Seto or not. <Little Prince?!> I groaned still very tired 《what?》 <Anzu's here and brought you something to eat> 《so tired》 *you should at least attempt to eat something* I carefully sat up and spotted Anzu beside my bed "oh, you're awake Yugi" she said. "Priest Seto and Yami insisted I eat something" I replied sleepily. +I insist as well+ I picked up my millennium puzzle and shook it violently. *<+HEY!+>* the three spirits yelped. I laughed "I didn't think that would actually work" I snickered. "Real mature Yugi" Anzu replied. I stopped laughing as a coughing fit overcame me. <are you alright little prince?> 《ya, laughing isn't such a good idea》 I looked up as Anzu handed me a bowl of chicken broth. I gratefully accepted but couldn't eat more than four spoonfuls. She took the bowl from me as my exhaustion took hold. I smiled before falling back to sleep.

[7:00 pm]

I looked up as I was dueling someone, I couldn't control my own actions. I could only watch as my opponent summoned his monsters. I had my Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl on the field. I summoned my pad launcher turtle and cruelly sacrificed my Dark Magician Girl. I quickly realized that it wasn't me dueling, it was Yami. I was watching the duel happen from above. I was horrified as I realized this was the Seal of Orichalcos. I watched as the pharaoh lost the duel and the seal prepared to take his soul but I broke the seal from my point and shoved Yami out, taking his place instead. "Yugi, what are you doing?!" Yami shouted concerned. "The seal only needs one of us, I sacrifice myself" I replied before vanishing. I startled awake, panting as my heart raced. I looked around the room frightened <little prince? Are you alright?> 《just a nightmare》 <do you want to talk about it?> I shuttered at the memory of my nightmare 《no》 I replied shaking. <was it really that bad?> 《it felt more like it was a warning of things to come》 <all the more reason to talk about it> I shook my head as the memory of the dream slipped away 《I can't remember》 <it's okay> 《all I remember was being terrified》 <go back to sleep little prince> I curled up and fell asleep.
