"Hey Sparky!"

Denki jerked back into reality, quickly turning to face Cole silently praying that the hero wasn't silently plotting his murder. Instead, a bandanna was tossed at his face. He stared at it. "What's this?" he finally asked after a moment.

Cole chuckled and shook his head at the stupid question. "What does it look like?" he retorted. He pointed a finger at the other team they were up against. "See that kid? His quirk is gas." He pointed at the bandanna. "They don't got bandannas. When gas kid uses his quirk, the rest of his team has to move leaving the objective unguarded." he grinned toothily and jabbed a thumb into Denki's chest. "That's where you come in Sparky."

Denki's eyes widened as Cole's full plan clicked into place. "You want me to get the objective?!" he spluttered.

"I thought that's what I said." he crossed his arms over his chest. "The rest of us will cover you." a smirk lighted on his lips. "Don't mess this up new kid."

Denki quickly nodded his head as his heart pounded in his chest.

Dont mess up? Easier said than done.

A horn echoed through the room, marking the beginning of the round. Denki bit his lip and ducked behind a tall rock, eyes wide with fear.

What was he doing?

"Are you nervous?" a voice asked, causing him to yelp and jump back in fear.

A thin young man was crouched behind the rock staring at him in a rather unsettling way. His messy black hair fell over the left half of his face and his dark eyes seemed to stare through him.

"Don't do that!" Denki yelled as he lunged forward, ready to snap off the hero's head causing the young man to cower back in fear.

A drop of sweat formed on the back of the young man's head as he bowed. "I'm sorry!" he quickly apologized before ducking back behind the rock. After a moment of silence, "what's your name?"

Denki frowned as an explosion lit up the ceiling a mere few feet away from his head. "Is this really the time for introductions?" he demanded in a flustered tone.

The young man stared at him with dark, unblinking eyes.

He sighed and slumped forward, his logic defeated. "Denki Kaminari," he answered, wincing as another explosion sounded above them.

The young man grinned and offered a bony hand to shake. "Rebel," he introduced himself, "or Splash as Cole likes to call me."

Denki shook his hand with a goodhearted smile before grabbing his bandanna and pulling it over his mouth and nose in hopes of filtering out most of the gas. "Cover me," he ordered before charging off into the growing cloud of gas. He squinted his eyes against the noxious air and wheezed as his vision swam.

Why did he agree to this?

Something zipped past him, knocking him to the ground with a painful smack.

"Didn't see that coming did you?" a quick voice taunted as a blur ran around him at breakneck speed.

Denki clenched his fists in frustration, feeling power build up within him as sparks flew around his shaking body.

Don't lose it.

"You not gonna fight back?" the voice asked in a teasing tone, pushing Denki around with a laugh.

More power built within him.

Don't go dope.

"C'mon!" the fast voice laughed. "Fight back! Hit me!"

Denki shook with power and fury as he was knocked to the ground once more. Sparks flew from his clenched fists as his arms shook with electricity.

It was now or never.

"112 MILLION VOLTS!" he screamed in frustration and anger as energy leaped from his body and fried his opponent. The quickster flew into a rock and slumped to the ground, unconscious. The gas quickly dissipated, blown away by the energy.

Denki stared at the ground, chest heaving and eyes widened in shock.

He wasn't dope.

He cheered and leaped up from the ground, pumping his fist in victory. "I'm not dope!" he yelled in excitement as he jumped up and down.

"Dude," Cole interrupted Denki's victory dance, "what are you talking about?"

Denki froze and slowly turned to see the rest of his team staring at him in utter confusion. His cheeks grew hot and he quickly returned a casual pose scratching the back of his neck. "Nothing!" he quickly assured them, hoping that they would forget about the incident.

As his team mates turned away from him, he breathed a sigh of relief and let his shoulders slump forward. This wasn't UA.

Dorky Denki Kaminari had to go.
