"Devil no!" Eijiro snapped as he dropped a loaf of bread on the counter to shout at his cat. He jabbed a finger at an untouched bowl of cat food. "That's your breakfast!" he snapped.
His fat orange cat stared at him with a blank expression before resuming his task of eating the bacon from Eijiro's plate.
He sighed defeated and snatched away what was left of his breakfast and shoved it in the fridge. "Forget it," he growled, "I'm going to be late for class anyway." he slung his backpack over his shoulder, stroked his cat's soft fur, and ran out the door.
All the days had blurred together in the past few months, he thought to himself as he waved to his fellow classmates. Only a few more weeks until he would graduate from UA and move onto college.
Time sure flew.
"Good morning Eijiro!" Kyoka greeted as she jogged to catch up with him, followed by Izuku and Momo. "Are you ready for final exams? They're coming up soon."
Eijiro stared at her with a blank expression. "...what?"
"Final exams are next week," Momo explained in a matter-a-fact tone. "They bumped them up a week so we will have time for our graduation trip to America." she frowned as Eijiro's expression morphed from confusion to panic. "Don't you read the school announcements?" she glanced down at her watch and gasped. "We're going to be late for class!" she grabbed his arm and all but dragged him to the classroom just as the bell rang.
Eijiro was too shocked to be aware of his surroundings as he numbly sat in his desk and felt around for his school books.
A light tap on his shoulder broke him out of his trance. "Excuse me?" a high and delicate voice asked.
Eijiro turned to face the voice, still silently planning out how many nights it would take to cram for finals week. He froze and his eyes widened.
A petite girl with delicate wings was standing behind him. Her pink, ethereal hair fell across her shoulders as her perfect eyes sparkled.
She looked like a fairy.
"I'm new here," she admitted, "I transferred from another school." She pointed to what was once Denki's desk. "Is anyone sitting here?"
Still blown away by her perfect appearance, Eijiro slowly shook his head.
The young lady smiled gently and sat down in the vacant desk in front of him.
Eijiro felt a warm blush creep onto his cheeks as the teacher stepped in front of the class and began his lesson. He couldn't help but think about her.
She was perfect.
A gentle hand tapped on his shoulder, causing him to jump and look up.
"Um," the young lady began in a hushed voice, "who used to sit in this desk? Everyone else seems so sad when they look at it and there is a name scratched into the surface. It says Denki."
Eijiro looked down to study his hands. "Yea," he answered, "Denki Kaminari. He was sort of the class clown and my friend but he...he died."
Her face fell. "I'm so sorry," she told him, "that must have been hard." Her face brightened once more. "Maybe we can get something to eat after class," she suggested, "to take your mind off your loss."
He hesitated but smiled. "That would be great," he agreed and turned back to his books. His heart raced as the full magnitude of the situation.
Did a girl really ask him out on a date?
Did he say yes?
His face grew as red as his hair as his mind raced.
He had a girlfriend.
Eijiro needs a girlfriend--let's face it. As beautiful as he is, it's a wonder he's still single. Besides, Denki is engaged! He can't fall behind!
