All Along It Was A Fever

"Hey, Vera? Do you know of the story of the Volterra Castle?" My best friend Brady questioned. I shook my head, watching over the city of Volterra from the roof of my house. Me and my friends, Brady, Tessa, and Sebastian, had made it a habit after school to climb up my roof and hang out. 

"No, what is it?" I questioned. Ever since I moved to Italy two months ago, I have been hearing stories of the city. I'm such a history geek. Literally, most poeple fall asleep in History, but I actually pay attention and enjoy it. 

"Well, it goes kinda like this," Sebastian started. "At around 600 AD or so, there was this huge fight for control of another world in Volterra. It was between many and few, and the few were so powerful they brought down the more numerous side. Ever since then, the few have gained in numbers and ruled the other world. Rumor has it that they live in that castle, and tourists that go inside that castle never come back out."

"Aw, come on, Seb! You know it's all a lie!" Tessa whines. 

"Are you sure it is?" Brady smirks at Tessa, and she throws her water bottle at him. He grunts as it hits his shoulder, harshly. Did I mention Tessa plays softball, and has a wicked throw? Well, she does. Lesson in life, don't make Tessa angry. 

"Well, how about this? We'll play hookie, go down to the castle, and see if anyone lives there. Then, we'll go back to Vera's and hang out until we have to go," Sebastian suggests, and we (somewhat reluctantly) agree to go to the castle.

A/N: I know this is short but trust me the next parts are going to be longer! Pinky swear. Also I'm trying to update this when I have a couple chapters ahead done. If you want me to update ASAP, vote and/or comment! I will respond to comments/mail. I'm thinking of updating this every Friday and Saturday. If this changes I'll let you guys know.
