Eden replies. "Not exactly... I insinuated it, and he did not deny it."
Eddie grabs his coat. "I'm sorry about... your bed." He says, referring to the wet sheets. Eden reaches over to her side table, grabs his keys and tosses it over to him.
"Don't worry about it. Good night, Eddie." Eden says. Eddie smiles as he heads out.
Barely seconds later, Eden rolls over to see her phone ringing. It's Iris.
_
Iris had worked all day long and had not gotten the chance to go see Eddie since the incident. As much as she really wanted to see him, she wondered if what he really needed was some space and time to himself.
She finally decides to swing by CCPD to check in on him since he had been ignoring all her calls and texts.
Iris enters the station and immediately spots her dad. Joe looks gloom when he sees her walking towards him. Iris goes in for a hug when they meet.
"Hi dad." She says.
Joe replies, "You actually just missed Eddie. He, stopped by earlier to let Detective Singh know he was taking some time off."
Iris grows worrisome, "Why? Is it? It can't be because of-?"
Joe pulls Iris aside as her loud response draws more eyes towards them. Joe continues, "Eddie is fine. He didn't say why exactly. He just hinted that he needed some time off for some personal matters. Guess I better start looking for a temp partner."
Iris pauses for a moment before asking, "Did he say when he was gonna be back? Did he say... anything else?"
"No. But, he did leave this for you." Joe gives her a small envelope with her name handwritten on it.
Iris tears it open on the spot and reads the small notecard inside it.
Iris, I'm not going to be at the apartment today or tomorrow. Feel free to stop by and pick up your things. Leave the spare key under the mat. Sorry this had to end like his. - Eddie.
Iris quickly wipes a tear from her face and tucks the letter in her back pocket. Joe's heart breaks for her daughter. He asks. "Are you okay?"
Iris looks up through glassy eyes to see Barry ascending the CCPD stairs. Barry glances at Iris for a split second before disappearing into his lab.
Still looking towards Barry's direction, Iris answers her dad. "I will be... right after this."
Iris quickly mounts the stairs and swings open the door to the lab. Barry turns around to see a furious Iris in a Wonder Woman stance by his door.
Iris immediately warns Barry.
"Don't. Say. Anything. I need you to hear this. And I need you to get this into your head." Iris starts to pace frantically around the lab.
Barry sits on one of the lab tables. He takes a sip of his coffee, ready to listen to whatever Iris wants to spew out on him.
Iris sees the swelling on Barry's lips from where Eddie had sucker punched him to the ground just days ago.
She shakes her head and forces herself to focus. The sound of her boots as she paces add a dramatic tone to her monologue.
"Barry. What you did at Eddie's party was completely disrespectful and straight up... immature. You put me in that situation knowing fully well that Eddie was going to walk in and see us together. And you planned the whole thing because what? You're jealous?! I gave you a clean out from attending the party but YOU insisted on coming. Why would you even...?! Barry, does my happiness really mean that little to you?"
