The building in front of me didn't look anything like I expected it too, firstly it was huge, but at least I knew that we would be safe here. There was a sense of anonymity in this place. That meant that my kids and I could lay low here for awhile at least. I looked down beside me and saw the twins staring at the building
Mommy is it okay to stay here?
The twins ask me, both of them voicing their concerns in my mind. Of course it is munchkins. I replied, they were both concerned about the fact that for the past two years straight we have been moving from place to place. Always on the run, always watching our backs...
"Well here goes nothing." I mumble to my self, holding the twins hands I sighed to myself and head towards the front entrance."Hello, my name is Tatiana Evans, I'm here for the job as a creche teacher." I tell the lady at the front desk. "Are you the lady who called in two days ago?" "Yes, that would be me." I tell her.
She looks me up and down once before nodding her head and mumbling something inaudible to herself. "Weren't there supposed to be two kids with you?" She asks me arching her left eyebrow at me. "Yes; Emmy, Zach come here please." The twins peep from behind me and stare at the lady at the front desk. They look at her for all of ten seconds before the both break into smiles. "Ah, aren't they just enchanting." She tells me.I smile to myself and think yes they are. "You can start first thing tomorrow morning, if you would like I'll introduce the little ones to you, and fair warning they sure can be a handful." She tells me with a kind expression on her face and with a gentle smile. I smile back at her, i call Emmy and Zach before leaving, come on kiddos, we'll get lunch on the way home. Mommy can we have pizza please? Zach asks me with an eager expression on his face. Sure Champ. I tell him through the mind link that we have. I then turn to Emmy and ask her what she would like since she's rather quite after we spoke to Claire, the lady at the front desk.
She turns to me and tells me she wants a burger and fries, so I tell her sure Princess as we reach our car. She smiles back at me and then goes back to looking at all the buildings that we walk pass. I buckle them both up into the backseat of the car and get into the front, we drive for a few minutes until we reach the shopping mall, i get out of the car and unbuckle the kids, i hold their hands and tell them to please stay close to me.
After the kids and I get lunch we walked around the mall for a little while, window shopping more or less seeing as i hardly had any money left. I just had enough left over to buy food until my next pay check. I knew that i couldn't afford to be lavish, and even if I didn't eat, I still had to feed the kids. I looked down at the two of them looking around at all the other kids with both their parents, I could just sense their sadness rolling of them in waves, but they didn't say anything, neither did I.
The next morning I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring out Power by Little Mix. Every morning was a different song from my playlist, which I refused to take off of shuffle. As per my usual routine I got up at three in the morning, washed my face, i did a few stretches for about half an hour and meditated for the other half l. After I was done with that I went into the bathroom to get ready for the day ahead. Once I was done I got breakfast started and went to wake up Emmy and Zach.
As I pulled up into the staff parking lot of Lakewood Cardinal, I got the eerie feeling of being watched, but when I jumped out of the car and looked around I still couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. Munchkins I need you to be on you'lls very best behavior, okay loves? Yes Mommy. The two of them chime through the mind link. They were both beinga little distant with me from the morning because I told them that they cannot use their gifts under any given circumstances, and if there's any danger to call me instantly. Looking down at them now I realised that no matter how upset they were with me, we had one another's backs.
That really broke my heart, knowing that in the face of danger, they would have too fight for their lives. They were only three, but they already had to be scared for their live. They both looked up at me and tightened their hold on my hands, they sensed my distress. They tugged on my hands making me kneel down in front of them, they threw their arms around me and hugged me. "We love you mummy." They think to me, I hug them back and voice out too them, "I love you too, my angels."
