"Bucky!!!!" Bella screamed after returning home.
Bucky was taking a small nap and he sat up, alarmed. He reached under his pillow to take out the pocket knife that he always kept there for emergencies and ran towards the door.
When he reached, Bella was standing against the door, her hair slightly messy and a big grin on her face.
"Where is it?" Bucky asked, positioning the knife in between his fingers as he clenched his fists into a punch.
"Where is what?" Bella asked, surprised.
"Danger. You were screaming. I heard it. There is no reason to be worried. I will take care of it."
Bucky looked around the room, his assassin instincts kicking in.
"Oh, my sweet Boo bear," Bella said, approaching him slowly. "There is no danger. I was just excited. There is a book fair in town and I want to go there so bad."
Bucky looked at her, dumbfounded. He had never wanted to hurl an entire sofa set at someone so bad.
"Are you serious?" Bucky asked, his voice gruff from the sudden adrenaline rush.
"Oh, come on, I haven't been to a book fair for sooooo long. Please, I want to go."
"I am not going anywhere," Bucky said, annoyed, as he plopped back down on the bed.
"I have heard," Bella said, musing, "that there is a nice chocolate store in there. It has milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate, marshmallows, mint bites, jelly filled chocolate cakes and-"
Bella stopped talking when she turned around. Bucky was already up on his feet, placing the cap carefully on his head and pulling the hood neatly over his face. He splayed his hair to cover his cheeks.
"Let's go," Bucky said stoically but Bella saw the twinkle in his eyes that said that he was excited.
"This is so fluffy!!!" Bucky gushed as he stuffed his mouth with cotton candy.
"Didn't you have this back in the 40's?" Bella asked, amused at his unexpected delight at something as normal as cotton candy.
"We might have, but I forgot. This is soooo fluffy!!!!"
Bella laughed as she saw Bucky squeeze a fist full of candy into the size of a marble as he put it in his mouth.
"I am glad you are having fun."
They both walked into a store that was filled with books and they came out with Bella holding three books. And then they went into the chocolate store where Bucky bought one of each type and also three large bars of milk chocolate. Bella smiled as she sat in a corner, watching Bucky run around the store like a little child, picking one chocolate after another.
"I," Bucky said while they were exiting the fair, "had no idea how long I was waiting for all this. I missed all of this for seventy years. Thank you, Bella, for saving me."
As Bucky looked at her, Bella blushed and looked down.
"Will that be all, sir?" Bella asked after she tidied the shelves in Jeff's office.
"You remember what we have to do next week?" Jeff asked, his tone taunting.
