Chapter 1 - The price of survival (pt 5)

"Ughn . . . huh, ah!" Junako screamed as he awoke and practically threw himself upwards as he sat up. He looked around with his limited eyesight, while he could tell that he had been moved, he was horribly blind without his glasses. After a few minuets of fumbling around, Junako found his glasses, after putting them on he was able to identify the room as his own (. . . did I get carried to my room then? . . . well of course I did . . .) Junako sighed as he over to get off of his bed when, he saw a flash of Kūki's last moments again, and he had to stop, he felt sick, having to holding his hand over his mouth while he shut his eyes and forced himself to forget the scene (no, you literally just woke up after passing out from that exact scene . . . just forget it . . . easier said than done . . .) Junako thought, he had just witnessed an execution, a death worse than many, how could he possibly under something so gruesome. "I think I need some air . . . and some food . . . god what time is it?" Junako wondered as he held his stomach again, he looked around his room for a clock, he found one on the wall above his bed (2: 56 pm . . . I've been out for almost two hours! . . . oh no, how is everyone else dealing with this? I've got to get to them . . . eventually . . .) "uuhhh . . . stupid weak legs . . . I hate this . . ." Junako groaned as he attempted to get off of his bed.

Once Junako had entered the dining hall he only found five other people sitting around a few tables but still in the same general area, Drake, Scarlet, Jõshõ, Tantei and Riku, Drake sat the closest to the doorway and was the first to notice that he had come in, a look of relief spread across his face "oh thank god, you're okay . . ." the others all turned to face him as he walked over "you gave us quiet the scare in there" Riku muttered as Junako approached "so . . . what happened while I was out?" "as I recall, after the incident, both you and Akemi were incapacitated while Toshihiro came close to unconsciousness Ataeru was able to stabilise him, if only for the time being" Riku noted "Drake carried you back to your room and acquired your room key temporarily to allow himself entry. Rocky had done the same for Akemi and declared that he would wait for her to recover. Ataeru also ushered Toshihiro into his room and left him to rest. Everyone else has returned to their dorm rooms as well." As Riku finished her explanation Scarlet began another one "If you're thinking of going back into the school, you can forget it, Monokuma has locked it up so that he can clean out the gym, he said that our motive will still begin tonight though-" "m-motive?! What motive?" Junako cut in with a hint of shock "oh right, you weren't awake when he told us . . . well Monokuma has given us a motive to increase the chance of us killing each other, he's titled it as, the deadlock, you can see it in your monopad if it helps, it'll probably explain it better than me anyways." Drake commented, to which the chairman took to immediately, unlocking his monopod he noticed a new feature titled motive, it was a bright pink which contrasted his pale blue background, the word motive was on the button. Junako pressed it and it opened a new window on the tablet, the first thing that appeared was the title of the motive.

The Deadlock

Starting at night time, the dorm room doors will be randomly locked and unlocked, they will remain unlocked for the following hour, the school and dinning hall will also be locked during this time. The motive will end at day time the following day. It will then restart the following night.

This motive will end when a murder occurs.

Additional motive

The Mono-key

Monokuma has hidden a special key in the school, that can unlock any electronic lock, however, it can only be used at night time. This key will remain hidden even after the motive ends. The Mono-key can open up to three locks before it deactivates forever, so use it with caution, also, the Mono-key cannot lock electronic locks, only open them.
