I walked into the Myers Film & Production studio at 7 o'clock a.m. The time that Jason told me to show up to get the script and start practicing.
The lobby had a sofa and couple of chairs. There were a few potted plants with decorations on them for the Christmas season. Everything seamed warm and inviting.
I walked over to the secretary desk to find a lady with her hair pulled back tight into a bun. She had a navy blue blazer and a skirt to match it. To top it all off, she had thick wire rim glasses.
"Excuse me," I said, feeling out of place wearing jeans and a sweatshirt.
The lady looked up at me from her computer, "Do you have an appointment ma'am?"
"Um, Mr. Myers told me to come at 7."
"Well," the lady checked her computer, "what was your name again?"
"I'm Kelsy Jones," I folded my arms, suddenly feeling self-conscious.
The lady scowled, "I'm sorry, but there is no appointment for a Kelsy Jones at 7."
"There must be a mistake!"
"Kelsy," a familiar voice walked through the door, "Sorry I'm late."
"Mr. Myers, are you extpecting Miss Jones?"
"Yes," Jason took off his heavy snow coat and set it on the sofa, "Now, Meranda, how many times do I have to tell you to call me Jason and not Mr. Myers!"
Meranda shrugged and went back to doing whatever she was doing on her computer.
"Come on Kelsy," Jason put his hand on my back leading me to the filming studio, "Let's get started."
~~~~~~
"Here is your script," Jackson, Jason's brother, handed me a thick stapled packet. It turns out that Jackson is the screenwriter and Jason is the director.
"Your new name is Anne Snow," Jason smiled, "that is who you will be acting as."
"But, you should probably meet the rest of the crew first," Jackson opened a door to what I thought was a closet, "Okay, honey we're ready."
A beautiful woman and three little kids joined us.
"Kate and Madi were messing with the recording equipment, so it might be a little messed up," the woman apologized.
"Kelsy, meet my wife and kids," Jackson said.
"Hi, I'm Heather, nice to meet you Kelsy," Heather shook my hand.
"Hi, my name is Madi and I am 6 years old," one of the little girls hugged me, "one time I saw Santa at the mall and he gave me a high five!"
I smiled, she was so cute!
"Okay, that's enough, Madi," Jackson roughled Madi's hair.
"Hey!" she pouted.
"I'm Kate and I love acting!" Kate grinned really big, "Dad says that I get to be in the movie with you and that's really exciting because you're really pretty!"
"Oh, thank you," I smiled again, "you look quite lovely yourself! How old are you anyway?"
"I'm eight," Kate picked up who I assumed was her brother, "and this is Tucker. He's three, but he doesn't talk much."
"Nice to meet you, Tucker."
"You can go play now," Heather said sweetly to her children.
"Yay!" Kate and Madi said in unison and the two of them plus their brother ran to go play.
"They are quite an outspoken bunch aren't they? But in an adorable way."
"You have no idea," Jackson put his arm around his wife's shoulder.
I laughed.
"So when do we start?" I said eagerly. I think those kids' enthusiasm rubbed off on me.
"Right now, we just have to wait for Eric to show up," Jason didn't look too happy.
"Who's he?" I asked, hoping it wasn't who I thought he was.
"Eric Cole, he's acting as Jeramiah Price," Heather informed.
"The guy you're supposed to fall in love with," Jackson said sarcasticly but with a slight smile.
My blood went cold.
"That's nice," what did I sign myself up for.
