Dan                                                                                                                                                                                               9:23

I  look up from the cash register to see a raven haired boy outside the window. I felt like I have met him before, so I smiled a little and waved. Sadly, he turned away and walked into Blue Beaches, the bookstore next door. Maybe he is having a bad day, or I miss judged and he thought it was weird for a stranger to wave at him and smile.

"Excuse me!" I snapped back to reality to realize the lady in front of me was waiting for me to take her order. "I am so sorry, what can I get you today?"

I started packing up to go on lunch break. "Hey Dan." a girl with short, brown hair walked up to me. "Hey Cat,what's up? You going on break?" I said picking up my bag. "Yeah, wanna go to the bookstore? I heard that they are finally getting in the last Harry Potter book and I want to get it before it sells out." I should have known she would ask me to go somewhere nerdy with her, but that is why she is my friend.

We head out the coffee shop and, make our way to the bookstore. I walk in and see the man again. He is talking to a customer about a book with a subtle smile on his face. I look into his features while he talks to a middle-aged woman. He has blue eyes that remind me of a nice day on the beach, oceans crashing, something that can hide one's true feelings because of how happy they look. His small smile. It is clear that it is forced, but it still brightens the room.

"Hey Dan, stop staring at that guy and come look for the book with me." Cat took my arm and pulled me to the fantasy section of the store. I saw some good books, but none of them looked like something I would read. I am more into books with deeper meanings. While it shows one thing, its meant to be another. "Dan I found it!" Cat said as she shoved a book in my face. " I can finally know what happens. isn't this exciting?" "You've only been talking about it for what, 2 months? it's a dream come true." She brushes a stray hair behind her ear and smiles "Dan, you really are my best friend." she says with a small laugh.

"You finding everything all right?" a shop assistant asked while walking by. I turn to say yes when I realized it was the raven-haired, blue-eyed, bright smiling man I saw earlier.  "Ye...actually, do you know where I can find 'The Fault In Our Stars'? I have been meaning to read it." He smiled that precious smile that I saw earlier, except it looked natural this time. "Sure right this way."

Phil

I'm about to hyperventilate. The cute boy I saw in the coffee shop is in my workplace, and he talked to me. His beautiful eyes shimmered as he talked to me. I loved how he messed with his jean pockets while he spoke and the way he smiled when I said I would show him where the book was.

"So what's your name?" I asked already knowing the answer, or so I thought. "Daniel Howell, but you can just call me Dan." He said with a soft smile.  "Philip Lester, but I go by Phil. Here it is." I said handing him his book. "Thank you. I think I've seen you at the coffee shop before." I blushed a soft rose color. "Really? are you sure it wasn't someone else" I said running my hand through my hair. "It's too small of a town for that possibility and I don't think I would have seen anyone else as cute as you," he says looking down. I smile a little. "Well I may just have to stop over there sometime so you can make sure."  he looked up, cheeks as rosy as a freshly bloomed flower in spring. "uh y-yeah that would be gg-great. Cc-can I buy this?'

I take him to the register when a girl with sort brown hair walks up. "Hey Dan, did you find your book?" she asked placing her book down. I should have known he was straight. "Yeah Cat, I'm going to check out and I'll see you back at work." The girl left with her book and it was just me and him. "So is it going well between you two?" I asked you know only being polite nothing else. "W-what? No No, shes just a friend, not really my type...or gender for that matter." I stand corrected. "I'm very sorry."  "It is all good. How much do I owe you?" he said getting his wallet out. "Nothing it's on me," I said handing him his book. "Thank you, Phil. Stop by the shop anytime." he grabbed his book and turned to leave. "Bye Dan."

Damn, I'm falling for those caramel eyes.
