Chapter 12
April 8th
"How good was that museum today?" said Ethan as he, Adam, Nathan and Zac returned to their hotel room.
"It was," Adam agreed, planting himself at the end of his bed, "but my feet are so sore."
"Oh, poor baby."
"I wonder what's for dinner," said Nathan.
"I don't really care," replied Adam, "I am not hungry."
"Yeah, yeah, you just want to talk to Tasha," Zac teased.
Adam was glad that his new friends got along with Tasha and he was glad that she got along with them. Adam thought that his new friends were good friends and it was nice to talk to guys. Adam kept telling himself that Tasha, Nicole and Isabella were great friends and he loved them for that, but until starting university, he had only had female friends. Having some male friends was a nice change.
"And what's wrong with that?" asked Adam as he opened his laptop. He was so glad that he was able to bring his laptop and he was so glad that he was able to access the internet.
The only problem was the time difference.
When it was five in the afternoon in Egypt, it was one in the morning in Australia. Tasha said that she didn't mind waking up at one in the morning to talk, and Adam was glad of that, but he did feel a little guilty. He wanted Tasha to be able to get sleep and one in the morning was the time to sleep. But if she said she was fine with it, she meant it, and she wanted to talk.
"Okay," said Zac, "we will leave you to it, then."
When Adam's friends were out of the hotel room, Adam got ready to talk to Tasha, and it wasn't long before she was smiling at him from the other side of the screen.
"I miss you," said Tasha.
"I miss you too," replied Adam.
"So, how was your day?"
"It was good. It was tiring, but I had a good time."
"What did you do?"
"We went to a museum today."
"Did you see a real live mummy?"
Tasha sounded like an excitable five-year-old boy; she sounded like Braedon when he was five years old.
"Yes," said Adam, "I saw a real live mummy."
"Was it scary?" Tasha teased, "did you have to hold Ethan's hand?"
Adam laughed at Tasha, "no, it wasn't scary at all. It was fascinating."
Adam was right. Seeing a mummy was one of the most fascinating things he had ever seen and it wasn't scary at all. He loved it so much.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" asked Tasha.
"We are going to a pyramid. We will be going on a tour," replied Adam.
"That sounds so good. But what if it is haunted or cursed?"
Adam laughed, "it will still be interesting even if that is the case."
Tasha laughed as well, "I wish I was there with you."
"Me too. Anyway, how are things going with you?"
"Things are good. Seb and I went to get some froyo."
Adam laughed.
"What?" asked Tasha.
