The Hunting Ponies

The Sparkle in Her Eye

Pinkie Pie led them through the town, jumping--did I say jumping? I meant friggin bouncing---all the way. She led them to a house made from a tree. She burst through the door.

"Hey, Twilight! Did you know there's new ponies here? I sure didn't!" She shrieked rapidly.

Dean caught sight of another pony that was like Cas. She had wings and a horn. He didn't know what came over him, but she was... beautiful.

"Slow down, Pinkie. Nice to meet you three. My name's Twilight Sparkle. Who might you be?" Dean couldn't speak, so Sam answered for him.

"My name's Sam. This is my brother Dean, and this is Castiel. We honestly don't have any idea where we are."

"You're in Ponyville. Where are you from?"

"Trust me, it's hard to explain. We aren't gonna stay for very long, we need to get back home as soon as possible."

"Do we really need to leave so quickly?" Dean asked. Sam gave him a look like he was crazy.

"What? Of course we do! Are you insane?"

"Come on, Sammy. These... ponies seem pretty nice. It wouldn't hurt to stick around a while. Besides, it'll be a bit difficult to get back to... where we came from."

"Dean, can I talk to you alone for a minute?"

"Sure." They went outside to have a private discussion.

"Dean, what the hell is wrong with you?"

"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you?"

"Why would you want to stay here? We're friggin ponies! I'm not even sure how to use this thing!" Sam gestured to his unicorn horn.

"Look, it's gonna take us a while to get back, so we may as well face the fact that we'll be stuck here for a while. We don't even know how we got here in the first place."

"Well, I didn't think you'd be so gung-ho about it."

"Like I said, these people or ponies or whatever seem pretty nice." He looked at his f- er, hooves. Sam started to understand. He smirked at his smitten older brother.

"Oh, I see what this is about. You've got the hots for that Twilight Twinkle or whatever her name is."

"Her name is Twilight Sparkle!"

"Whatever. Geez, don't get so defensive."

"I'm not being defensive!"

Sam scoffed. "Right."

Meanwhile, in the "treehouse", Pinkie was freaking out at Cas.

"So you're an Alicorn, too? That's so awesome! I know, like, six now! No, five! Well, six if you count Rarity that one time she had butterfly wings, that was so awesome!" She screeched the word "awesome" at an octave that seemed impossibly high.

"Is she always like this?" Cas asked Twilight.

"Pretty much. Don't worry, she grows on you."

Cas tilted his head to the side. "I don't understand. How can one grow on you?"

Twilight chuckled, assuming it was a joke. "It's a figure of speech."

Cas nodded. "I see. What about the rest of the town? Are they as... insane as she is?"

"Nope. She's one of a kind. So when I asked you where you're from, you said it's hard to explain. What does that mean exactly?"

"It's very complicated. You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

But before she could answer, Pinkie started talking again. "You guys are from a different universe where you're not even ponies, but you're actually people, and you're an angel of The Lord, and you don't know how you got here, but it must've been some kind of spell, and you need to get back home like really super soon!" She smiled brightly.

Cas narrowed his gaze, tilting his head to the side at Pinkie. "How did you know that?"

"Just a hunch."

"Wait a minute. People?" Twilight asked. "Like... humans? I've been to your universe. Or at least a variation thereupon. Like with arms and legs, hands and fingers?"

"Yes. You've been to our world?"

"Or a version of it at least. I never heard names like yours when I was there, though. They were all human versions of my friends, and I've certainly never met any 'Dean' or 'Sam' or 'Castiel'."

"How did you get to this parallel dimension?"

"Through a portal. And you have no idea how you got here?" She asked.

"I'm afraid not. We may require your assistance."

"Ooh! Ooh! Can I help?" Pinkie spoke up.

"Perhaps."

"YAY!" She cheered.

"And I have some friends who could lend a hoof too." Twilight offered.

"Good. We very well may need all the help we can get."
