Yugi's POV

[2 days later]

I was walking to school with Jonouchi when we noticed a news van parked outside the school. *news reporters are like hyenas, waiting for the perfect time to pounce on unsuspecting prey* /(laughing)/ "rumors are saying that there's someone famous visiting our school. That would be cool if it was true" Jonouchi said. <rubbish!> 《(laughing) why did you say that with a country accent?》 <because it's funny> *jeez* I poked my head into the van window to see if anyone was inside 《the windows are tinted, I can't see anything》 *I have a bad feeling about this* <I do too> /I as well/ +me too+ I backed away "What's wrong Yug?" Jonouchi asked concerned. "All four other souls say they have a bad feeling about this, maybe they're right. I mean they are almost always right" I replied. "I think you're overreacting Yug" Jonouchi responded. <maybe he's right, I don't feel like it's life threatening> *I still suggest you stay on high alert* +ya, can't be too careful+ I nodded "ok" I said before heading to class. "I'm telling you Yugi, there's definitely an idol here" Jonouchi continued to try to convince me. "I don't know Jonouchi" I replied sceptical. "Fine! I'll investigate by myself!" He growled before storming off. 《Did I say something wrong?》 "Hey! Are you Yugi?" A man asked. <careful little prince> "uh, yes I'm Yugi" I replied hesitantly. "I can assure you that there is an idol here, meet me behind the school and I'll introduce you to them" he replied. I allowed my excitement overpower my judgment "ok" I replied happily.

[Time skip]

I walked behind the school "hello?" I questioned. "Over here Yugi" he called. I hesitantly walked over. "Uh, where's the idol?" I asked nervously. "Come closer" he requested. I walked closer now a bit wary. "Wait, I hear someone coming" he said. It happened so quickly that I almost didn't realize what happened. He slammed his fist into my jaw "wha...?!" I said confused. I yelped as he grabbed me by my hair. "Moron! The is no idol! And there never was one!" He growled as his fist struck my left cheek. <little prince?!> I was too dazed to focus. I whimpered as his fist struck my right cheek. "Please...stop" I whined. I felt his knee slam into my ribcage before I roughly hit the ground, he kicked me before walking away. *Grrrr, fucking hyenas! They recorded the whole thing!* I looked up as the news crew got back into the van and drove off. 《I fell for their trick》 <it's not your fault little prince> 《why me?》 *you're small and an easy person to trick, it's cowardly for someone to take advantage of that. Your personality reveals the true nature of someone, whether good or bad* 《I can't get up, my body hurts too much》 I said before giving up on trying to get up. I looked up as someone stood over me "are you alright little one?" She asked concerned. *do you know her?* 《she's Ashley, she's very kind》 I replied as she gently picked me up. I whimpered as pain flared through my injured body. "Don't worry little cub, I'll get you to your friends" she said sweetly. "Yugi?!" I heard Anzu shout concerned. "I found him lying behind the school, he's a little injured. It looks like someone attacked him" Ashley replied. "He...tricked...me" I whimpered. Anzu gently took me from Ashley "who tricked you Yugi?" She questioned. "There...wasn't...any" I coughed "idol" I replied. Jonouchi looked horrified "those hyenas did this to you?!" He growled. I whimpered "yes" I replied. I cuddled closer to Anzu /you're taking advantage of her concern for you aren't you?/ 《no》 *Yugi has a little crush on Anzu* 《Yami!》 *sorry aibou* I purred as Anzu gently pet my head. <you really like her?> 《yes but she likes Yami not me》 *you should at least try* 《right now?》 *yes* <it's not like she's going to drop you on the ground just because you ask her out> 《true she's my childhood friend, she wouldn't do anything to hurt me on purpose》 "um, Anzu?" I questioned nervously. "Yes Yugi?" Anzu asked. I nearly backed out once I realized my friends all had turned their attention to me. *you can do it Yugi* "I uh...I was wondering...I wanted to ask if...argh, if you would like to...get some lunch...sometime...just you and me?" I stuttered nervously. I yelped as I hit the ground, I looked up confused until I realized someone had startled Anzu making her drop me. *that dirt bag is flirting with Anzu* "hey beautiful, you, me lunch" the man purred. "No!" Anzu growled. He forcefully grabbed her wrist "come on, give me a chance" he pleaded. I growled kicking the guy in the shin. "She said no!" I hissed. He growled before yanking me off the ground "no one asked you pipsqueak!" He snarled before throwing me out into the street. I screamed as a car slammed into me, I skidded across the street. "Yugi!" Anzu shouted terrified. <little prince!> I whimpered in pain. *Yugi?!* I looked up as the driver of the car was checking if I was ok. I whined before losing consciousness.
