When it rains it pours

My feet slam against the cold concrete floor. Stones pierce my toes, my lungs are burning but I couldn't care less. I need to escape, I need to run otherwise-. I stop running. I'm at the end of the street there are no open windows or any open doors. I look behind me and see it. The thing that is chasing me. The huge wolf like creature stands in place at the other end of the street. I look around and see no place to hide, no place to escape and that means I have to use it. I turn around and stare at the Creature.

It towers over all the houses and its lips curl back in a menacing snarl while drool drips from its fangs. The wolf backs up 1 step, then another, and another. Then it stops. The only sounds was my heavy breathing and birds fluttering away from the street.  I look everywhere but I cant see any escape or anywhere to hide. Every house is either destroyed or locked tight.

"please go away" I say, my voice trembling. It barks so loud a house behind me shakes and then continues to break down like a house of cards. I take my trembling hands and use them to hug myself.   "DON'T MAKE ME DO THIS" I scream out At the top of my lungs, But that seemed to only make things worse. The wolf like creature decides to lunge out and run at full speed directly at me. My ragged clothes drift around in the wind " Im sorry" I whisper. As the beast runs, the fur on their back only grows brighter and brighter until its seems as though its whole body is on fire. The earth shakes with every bound the creature takes.

I raise my left hand out, I turn my head away . And in my hands grows a bright white ball of light, tiny sparks of electricity shoots out of it. All around me birds fly away, street lights flicker then blow out. The beasts is mere seconds away and just before it reaches me everything .....turns ....black.

My face rams into the cold, disgusting mud "look at her squirm" laughs a male voice.  My body doesn't want to move, it hurts to much. Rain pours down drenching my clothes and soaking my hair. I manage to move my head slightly to the left so that i'm able to see what's going on around me.

Before I can look around a boot slams onto the back of my head, making my head throb with pain. It pushes my head deeper and deeper into the mud until I cant breathe 'air... I need air'.         I scream as loud as I can but it only muffles, The foot lifts up and I manage to breathe once again.  My head flies out of the mud, gasping for air i take my shaking cold hands and wipe mud from my eyes.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING"

I look behind me and my best friend Jacob Sarlento is dashing towards me. "LET HER GO". One of the guys goons takes hold of Jacob and made it so he couldn't move. "STOP IT" he screamed.

The two other men surround me as I stare at my best friend struggling and fighting to escape their grasp.  "She's lucky to be alive after what she did to Kyle" Says one of the men. I look back up in front of me barely even able to see but I can make out a broad, tall figure and another person, much thinner and seems to have scruffy dark hair. I look harder but I can't make out any details.

"Stay away from us you creep" he says kicking my stomach. I groan and clutch my gut, curling up into a ball trying to get warm but the rain won't let me. Everything starts to get fuzzy, I can't think or hear straight. The 3 guys sprint off in the direction of the school field and Jacob is able to finally reach me

"Katelyn!"

Jacob reaches me, splashing into the mud completely ruining his clothes but it seems like he doesn't care. Everything around me starts to fade seconds before I pass out Jacobs face is close to mine, so close I can see that in his emerald eyes their are flecks of  gold.

"What did they do to you..." . Then I go blank.

I can feel wind rushing on my face, my hair flailing behind me. My eyes open and all around me is black, "where..". I look left nothing, I look to my right nothing. All I can see is the black abyss. Then I a beacon of light shines in front of me I struggle to get towards it, falling in the air and all. I manage to drift towards the light and as soon as my fingertips touch the rink of the beam. I stop falling, i'm now floating, My hair calms down and rests on my shoulders I look around but I can't see anything, just darkness. I cup my hands to my mouth and scream "HELLO" to the left... or was it the right? It echoes across and then silence falls once again. Suddenly I start to fall again, But this time I land on the ground with a soft thud. My two feet are planted on the floor, I try to move but my feet are glued to the spot.

Then there's light once again, like a spotlight on a stage. And in this light is a mirror, I can finally move my feet but it's so sudden that I fall over towards the mirror. I manage to scramble to my feet and try look into the reflective glass. But for the weirdest reason I couldn't manage to bring myself to do it. My body trembled and my knees knocked together, I looked everywhere but the mirror then I told myself 'It's only gonna be my reflection nothing bad will happen'. Finally instead of looking off into the darkness I force my eyes to travel into the spotlight and look at myself. With a quick jolt I looked at the mirror and was relieved when it was me who was staring back "what was their to worry about" I told myself. As I looked in the mirror I saw me, ginger hair, baby blue eyes, freckles spread throughout my face I could also see my hands and arms covered by my favourite velvet red jacket, and navy blue jeans. And finally I could also see....
