The pressure on her waist didn't loosen at all.
Lola was trying not to cry in fear as she attempted to get out of her grip.
Her struggles were useless as the grip around her tightened. "Hey, hey, shhh, it's just me," Annika informed.
Lola went wide eyed as she felt like crying, Annika allowed her grip to loosen around Lola. She immediately turned around and started crying as she hugged Annika.
Annika went wide eyed as she stood there with a crying Lola around her shoulders, Lola grip around her shoulders was so tight; Annika barely got Lola off. Lola wiped her eyes as she sniffed as she watched the darkness around her disappear.
"You shielded us with your wings," Lola said, smiling in disbelief.
Annika nodded, "it is dark in here after all," she replied as she softly brushed her wings as they folded, "we need to move," she informed as she looked at her watch, Lola did as well, "we've got less than three hours. If we want to destroy the centre of the headquarters then we'll have to find it," she informed, "does anybody know you're here?"
Lola gave a nervous laugh as she rubbed the back of her head, "umm... maybe... like half the Dark Angels and almost all the trolls," she explained.
Annika stared at her blankly for a moment and softly laughed, "Oh well, it doesn't really matter, I kinda blew my cover as well," she explained as she also rubbed the back of her head.
They both nervously laughed, one mimicking the other, and their laughing soon turned into loud cackling from further down the hallways.
"We gotta move," she informed as her wings extended out and practically swallowed Lola in her wings and froze for a moment.
The cackling turned out to be growling and cursing, she could only just hear them now as they approached them. They stopped literally in front of them. Annika was holding Lola close tightly around her waist as they waited. Lola could see them through some of the stray feathers.
"What did you do?" Annika whispered.
They continued to grumble to one another before them.
"I kind of locked them in a troll jail," Lola whispered back.
Annika shrugged, "not the worst thing that's ever happened to them," she informed as she pushed the quiver from her face.
Lola moved slightly as the Dark Angels started scampering off.
Annika opened her wings and Lola was practically spat out. "Come on, we don't have much time," she urged as they walked through the halls.
It was like an hour of pointless walking, using Annika's wings to hide from any Dark Angels.
Then Annika stopped, Lola huffed and puffed as she stood behind her, leaning on her knees. "We've already been here," Annika noticed as she ran her hands along the walls, Lola could barely see, but she noticed there were some needles on the wall.
"I told you that the third time we came down this hallway," Lola informed as Annika stared at the wall closely and retracted her hand.
"Come on, we're close," she said.
Lola stared at her as she walked away. Lola ran after her, "how could we possibly be close, we've been going in circles for the past hour?"
Annika didn't answer; she just turned around and forced Lola's hand along the wall. Lola went wide eyed as she felt her hand get sliced on a blade on the wall.
Lola went wide eyed as she held her hand in pain, "Annika!" Lola desperately said as she felt the blood drip from her hand and on the ground.
It wasn't long before clicking echoed through the halls.
