Lola gasped in surprise as several bright lights followed Annika, like meteorites flying slowly in the sky, some landed on the ground and revealed their true, beautiful selves.

Angels.

Beautiful, petite Angels

They popped up everywhere and attacked a Dark Angel; some flew into the air to flee or to fight. Blood Crawlers started running away to doors on the command of Elinor as she ran through the street.

"Lola!" Annika yelled as she threw a bomb, it exploded on impact to the ground, missing Elinor. Lola jumped as she turned, attempted to aim and fired, it didn't hit Elinor, but it hit another Dark Angel as they ran by.

Lola growled at herself as Annika landed elegantly next to Lola, "don't be so hard on yourself," she said, "the fact that you could even fire it is an improvement..." she looked at Lola for a moment and went wide eyed, "... or maybe you're just out of practise..."

Lola blinked several times as her frustration took over, but the crying continued to spring into her ears.

Lola ran to the woman and her daughter, they screamed every time a Dark Angel went by.

She kneeled before the woman and daughter, "you guys need to get outta here," she informed kneeling down to them. They continued to sob before her, but soon the woman stood up and nodded.

"Is there anywhere for us to go, though?" she asked.

"There's no one place to go," Annika informed as she walked over, "but anywhere is better than out in the open."

The woman wiped her eyes as she attempted to pull her daughter with her, but the girl refused to leave without her dead brother, "but we can't bring him with us," the mother softly cried.

Annika glanced to the little boy on the ground and slowly walked over to him, "why won't you bring him with you?" she asked as she kneeled down to the lifeless boy.

"Because he's dead," the woman informed.

Everybody but Annika jumped when a building exploded, people cried as some came running out. "But..." she touched the boys head with her hand softly, a few seconds later he started crying a terrified screech, "he's still alive."

The woman stared, with a mixture of doubt and overwhelming relief, and her daughter's hand slipped from her's and practically dived to her little brother and scooped him up, tears and all, and hugged him so tight he had a whole other reason to cry.

Annika stood up and looked to the woman, "get them out of here," she instructed almost harshly.

They didn't argue, they ran further down the road and disappeared around the corner of the street.

"What are we going to do now?" Lola asked.

Lacking any warning, Annika practically pushed Lola backwards and sent o her to floor, while Annika was suddenly interlocked, hand and hand, with another Dark Angel.

Annika was forced back slightly, "we need to break the spell on the Dark Angels," she informed as she jumped back, the Dark Angel followed, a weapon in hand.

"How do we do that?" Lola asked as she sat up.

"We need to destroy their crystals," she explained as she ducked, limbo style, from the weapon.

"They have crystals?" Lola asked as she stood up, Annika punched the Dark Angel in the face and slid under its legs.

"Yeah, they look like this," she informed as she kicked the Dark Angel backwards and caught it by some sort of chain, it was a long silver chain, on the end of it was a purple crystal the size of a small rock, "with the crystal at the base destroyed they're wearing these. There's two ways to kill a Dark Angel, the normal way," she tripped the Dark Angel, "or this way," she broke the crystal with her bare hands and the Dark Angel screeched loudly and then fell silent. Annika allowed the crystal shards to fall from her hands, "They work for the Dark Lord who gets their powers from the Dark Crystal, so the Dark Angels' own magic are stored in these things to represent ownership."
