"So you guys are from where?" The girl who was flirting with Ming Hua asked. She wore a dress 3 sizes too small and had makeup that did not match her neck. Li Na rolled her eyes as she shifted her weight from one foot to another. She sighed as she gave her brother the side-eye. "I'm going to get a drink" Li Na muttered to her brother as she walked away from them.

For the past hour, people introduced themselves to Li Na. To be honest, she couldn't remember anyone's name. People were more interested in the money the family had. Li Na watched as people ate the free hor d'ouvres and drank the free booze, which was fine but do it with class. She brushed the loose hairs from her face. She scrunched her nose up as she watched some teenagers taking a bottle of scotch. She rolled her eyes as she turned away from the teenagers acting like fools. Even the girls were acting like idiot bimbos, who just wanted to jump on the money train or her brothers' dicks.

Li Na had to navigate her way through the crowd, she had eyes on her the entire time. People whispered as she walked, the murmurs of the guests. "Imbeciles" she whispered under her breath as she watched the guests. There was no class in some of these people. But neither do rich people, they were always about gossip. Guest just blatantly stared at her as she tried to break through the crowd of guests.

As Li Na made it to the doors of the kitchen she felt a rush of relief, all the eyes couldn't stare at her anymore. She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. The kitchen staff looked up at her as she entered. "Let me make you Eight Treasures Tea," the lead Chef said in Chinese as she placed a hand on Li Na's shoulder. "Thank you" she replied in her native tongue. The Chef has always been a loyal friend to the family, she was even married to their butler. The two of them were the only workers they had brought with them when they had moved.

After a few minutes, Li Na sat at the kitchen counter with a cup of tea. "Mei Mei, what are you doing? Are you feeling okay?" Lei Wei barged into the kitchen, he had been looking for her for some time. The door slammed into the wall as he entered. "I'm fine, just a little tired" Li Na said with a sigh, her fingers spinning the spoon around the white porcelain cup. "Hey, we saw you come in here," Wang Yong said as he entered, followed by Ju Long and Ming Hua.

"I'm fine, I just wanted some space to breath" Li Na stated as she stood up from her seat."I'm good now" she said has her brothers gave her a look, " I am". She brushed her dress off and stood her full height and raising her head high. "So now we can go back out and give a welcoming speech," she said as she brushed her hair off of her shoulder. Giving her brothers a reassuring look.

Lei Wei stepped up to the first few steps of the main staircase, bring a knife to the champagne glass. As the guests quiet down, they looked up the direction of the Chu family. "I want to say thank you to all of you for welcoming our family to La Push," Lei Wei says, "and we welcome you to the Chu Manor. Enjoy the food and drinks". He rose the champagne glass into the air, "cheers". The guests rose their drinks into the air and a chorus of "cheers" replied back.

Li Na stepped down from the steps and back into the crowd. As a waiter passed by she placed her hand on his shoulder. "Pardon me, could I get a glass of water," she asked and the waiter nodded his head. Li Na turned around and jumped as someone was directly behind her. she placed a hand on her heart, "sorry you scared me".

"Hi, I don't think we have met. I'm Sam Uley" the man who jumped in front of Li Na. She stepped back a bit from the close proximity. The man who introduced himself as Sam was a tall and very built man with russet skin. "Um, it's a pleasure to meet you," she said as she looked at Sam, he had a group of younger-looking boys behind him and a woman next to him. "and I'm Emily," the girl next to Sam said, she had three long scars running down her face. Li Na smiled politely to the couple. "I'm Li Na-" she began as a large body came barging through the crowd. Li Na had to take a step back as he stood in front of her. He was very large and very shirtless. His back was turned to her, she could see every muscle move in his back as he flexed. His russet skin was radiating heat from it, and she was a good foot away from him. Li Na's eyes were most likely bugging out of her face as she was shocked at what had happened. People around them were staring now too.

"Sam-" the shirtless person said as he began to talk to Sam. "Pardon me, but who the bloody hell are you, but more like where the bloody hell is your shirt," Li Na asked as she crossed her arms over her dress. The slight frustration in her voice as she asked the male. The tall body turned around and he stared down at her. Their eyes connected with each other. Li Na looked into the brown eyes, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked at her. She held his gaze as he stared down at her, his chest puffing. It was like drowning in dark chocolate as she looked into those eyes, she could look into his eyes forever. Li Na had a strong urge to touch his strong and very naked chest. His tan skin glowed in the light of the chandelier. At one moment she was pissed and the new she was dazzled by the half-naked man.

"Your water, miss," the waiter said breaking the staring contest between the two. The shirtless man growled at the waiter had interrupted. Li Na blinked her eyes several times before pulling her eyes to the water next to her. "Thank you," she said as her hand took the glass off the silver tray. She turned back to the person who was still shirtless and still staring at her. His expression softened as she turned back to him. Li Na took a gulp from the glass, her eyes never leaving the ones in front of her.

"I'm Paul," he said, his voice barely audible for Li Na to hear. His voice was deep and smooth, like running your fingers on silk. "And about the shirt, it's a long story," he said with a small grin on his face, Li Na blushed as she looked down. "Um, okay" Li Na cleared her throat, she nodded her head slowly as she backed away. "It was very nice to meet all of you," she said as she stared at the male named Paul. He watched her as she back away and into the crowd.

Once Li Na had moved away from the gorgeous male, she shook her head. Thinking that would get his beautiful face out of her head. She groaned as she couldn't shake his flawless eyes and lips from her thoughts. She just imagined what it would be like to run her hands over his large biceps. Taking the glass of water in her hand and chugging it down to hydrate her thirst. After drinking the glass she closed her eyes for a second while taking in a deep breath. Trying her best to calm her nerves and heart rate.

She could not fall for anyone in this town she thought to her self as she continued to greet guests. But his warm brown eyes came back to her thoughts. She was hoping she was able to go away after this, no attachments to this town. People who live in this town wouldn't be able to handle her lifestyle. For the rest of the night, she was distant, inside her own head.

It was finally the end of the party and the last of the guest had left. The house was a mess, drinks were everywhere along with food. Li Na bid her brothers good night as they drank a glass of whiskey together in the Cigar Room. "Don't forget you have school tomorrow?" Lei Wei said as he kissed her hair. "Why do I have to go" she whimpered as she moved to the next brother. "And the cars don't come in until tomorrow afternoon. So one of us will drive you to school and pick you up" he added making her groan again. "I hate my life" she groaned to her brothers. " Well you can hate your life at school," Lei Wei said making her huff in annoyance.

"I guess so since you won't change your mind" Li Na rolled her eyes and headed to the stairs. She walked to her new bedroom, the grey colored walls matched with the white furniture. The bathroom led to the walk-in closet at one end of the room. Taking her heels off while sitting on the black chair in her room. Her feet hurt like hell but her mind still went to those brown eyes.

She made her way to the balcony doors on the right side of the room, which was joined by Ming Hua's balcony door. She pulled the white curtains out of her way, but all she saw was the night. Starlight twinkled back at her as she looked up to the dark sky. In a place like this, you could see the stars, in Singapore, you wouldn't have seen them. The faint sound of a howl of a wolf in the distance. A shiver ran up her spine as she backed away and headed to the bathroom to take a bath.
