Down The Block (EddMatt)

Distracted

               Matt lead Edd up a staircase and then took him to his room. Matt's room was a light pink and it had glow in the dark star stickers all over the celing. There was a desk that had a well sketched drawing of a unfamiliar fictional looking character. Over the desk was a cork bored with a few photos pinned to it. Matt's bed was a lavender colour and was neatly made. Around his room hung a few strands of wire with tiny white lights on them. Matt had a window that indented in his wall so he had a seating place by the window. On the little window bench was a few stuffed animals and pillows. Outside the window was a very nice view of a forest. Matt sat down on the floor with his backpack and took out a couple of textbooks. Matt looked at Edd and patted the carpet next to him signalling Edd to come sit next to him. Edd sat down and ran his fingers through the fluffy blue carpet.

         "Alright, so! In science  your on page 126, and in math you're on page 247?" Matt looked at the textbooks and then Edd.

         "Oh-uh, yes." Edd said feeling blood rush to his cheeks. Matt giggled a bit and then flipped through the science book. 

         "Okay so, the first three questions are about habitats and ecosystems. Questions four and five are about scavengers and decomposed okay? So all you need to do is,-" As Matt began to describe the questions and what you need to do, Edd began to feel distracted. Edd wasn't looking at Matt's cozy room, or even the textbook. He was looking at Matt as he kept looking at the questions and then Edd. Every now and then Edd would noticed that Matt's fluffy orange hair would fall in his face every now and then, when he looked at Edd. He found it so cute how Matt wouldn't use his hands but simply blow it out of his face. Edd admired everything about Matt. His smile that he rarely would see him without, his cute giggle when Edd stumbled over his words, and his lovely eyes that lit up every time Matt would see any of his friends. Edd was ripped out of his thoughts when he noticed Matt stopped talking and was now looking at him. "Edd?" Matt tilted his head a little, "Did you hear me?"

           "Oh! Um...I uh, I kinda lost focus sorry." Edd mumbled feeling bad remembering how Matt was putting aside time he could be doing anything he wanted, to help him.

           "No worries, I lose focus all the time. I remember Mark told me to return a book he signed out at the library, it was due and because I didn't hear him he got a fee!" Matt began to laugh a little, "He didn't talk to me for about a week." Matt said looking at the floor.

           "A-alright, so do you want to keep working on the homework or-" Edd said trying to get the homework done worried he was gonna make a fool out of himself infront of Matt any moment now.

           "Hey, Edd?" Matt said interrupting him, "Sorry to interrupt but you've seemed really flustered or maybe nervous? I just wanted to know if you were okay." Matt gave Edd a kind look as he sat a bit closer to him.

          "It's just....."  Edd mumbled blushing, "Never mind. It's not important "

          "Edd, if something is bothering you of course it's important!" Matt smiled and blushed a little.

          "Okay.... M-Matt... You're the sweetest person I've ever met. You met me almost two months ago from me dropping my things after I fell over and you immediately took me in as a friend." Edd started looking away from Matt. "A-And I know this sounds super  dumb but....Matt, with you being so nice to me I- I couldn't help but fall in love with you. Edd smiled blushing as he continued to look at the floor.

         "Edd... Do you really mean that?" Matt was blushing intensely and looked just about ready to cry with joy.

         "L-look if I'm creeping you out I'm sorry. C-can we please just stay frie-" Edd was cut off by Matt tackle hugging him. Edd felt warm and safe in Matt's imbrace. 

         "Edd I practically loved you the moment I saw you!!" Matt smiled as happy tears flowed down his face. Edd sat up and Matt did the same. Edd cupped Matt's face with one hand and used his other hand to wipe the tears from his freckle covered face. Once Matt's face was dry Edd kissed Matt's cheek causing blood to instantly rush to his face, a heavy blush spread across Matt's face as he giggled happily. 

        "Matt, can I kiss you?" Edd looked at the floor and then back at Matt. Matt looked shocked for a moment but then smiled and nodded. Edd and Matt leaned in for a short but sweet kiss. The kiss was full of passion and joy. Once the two pulled away from the kiss Edd broke a short silence."Matt," Matt looked back at Edd smiling a little, "I love you." 

        "I love you too Eddie!" Matt smiled happily. The two sat next to each other and finished the homework in less then an hour. That evening he spent with Matt, Edd had completely forgot about Eduardo and everything that bothered him.
