Roxy's Story #3: Yugi(Discontinued)

The Very Beginning

Yugi's POV

I was walking beside Anzu, she's been my only friend so far. That was until Jonouchi decided to be my friend after I saved him from Ushio. I had discovered that Jonouchi was the one who stole the puzzle piece but he later returned it. I still can't remember what happened between completing the puzzle and awaking on the roof of the school, all I know is Ushio had completely lost his mind. This morning before school, he was found in the courtyard screaming about monsters and pleading for someone to make them go away. I looked up at Anzu "did anyone ever figure out why Ushio was like that?" I asked curious. "I overheard someone say that once he was somewhat in control again, he mentioned a person with violet eyes and what he described as red flames mixed in. Said he had spikey hair that had a crimson sheen. Sorta like yours except red" she replied. "He claims that this person looked similar to me?" I questioned. "Ya, except that this person was very aggressive and cruel. You're gentle and kind, you couldn't possibly hurt anyone" Anzu replied. I looked down at my puzzle "problem is, I have no memory between completing my puzzle and this morning, I have absolutely no proof that I wasn't there with Ushio. What if they accuse me of being the cause of this?" I asked panicked accidentally bumping into Akuma. "What it runt!" He growled shoving me to the ground. Just like the person who attacked me yesterday, Akuma backed up before fleeing. Screaming about shadows wanting to kill him. I looked at my shadow confused "uh....?" I tilted my head in confusion. "That was strange" Anzu said just as confused as I. I got up and looked back at my shadow but didn't see anything unusual. I continued walking with Anzu to a cafe to get some lunch. I looked up as someone walked into the cafe but couldn't understand why he caught my attention, that was until he pulled out a gun. "Everyone get on the ground or I'll shoot you!" He commanded. When a few people didn't do what he said he aimed his gun at Anzu. I panicked as he pulled the trigger, not even thinking I pushed Anzu out of the way. I took the bullet instead, I crashed to the ground.

Anzu's POV

I was terrified as he pointed his gun at me and pulled the trigger. I felt someone shove me out of the way before I heard a thump hit the ground. I turned to look and was horrified to see Yugi laying on the floor, gripping his shoulder as blood flowed down his arm. I looked up as Yugi's millennium puzzle began to glow before someone resembling Yugi stood in his place. It was him, his hair had a crimson sheen and his eyes were deep purple with crimson flames. He was much taller than Yugi and radiated anger and hatred. "Who are you?!" The gunman asked confused. "I have many names, pharaoh, Yu-gi-oh. But you can call me Yami Yugi!" He growled. "What happened to the pathetic runt?" The man questioned. Yami growled "how dare you say that about my hikari! At least he's not a coward unlike you!" Yami roared angrily. The man attempted to shoot Yami but he was too quick and was soon behind the gunman. "Let's play a game, each of us draws a card from this deck of playing cards. The one with the highest number wins" Yami said. "Whatever, so be it" he replied before drawing a card "9" the man said. "I drew the king, I win" Yami replied. The man launched at Yami "the doorway of darkness has been opened!" Yami said before the man was on the ground saying something about money everywhere. "You only have greed in your soul" Yami said before turning back into Yugi. "Yugi?!" I shouted concerned. He looked at me confused "what happened?" He questioned as the man hissed screaming that it was his money and no one else could have any. 'He doesn't know about his dark other' I thought before gently tending to Yugi's injury. "You just saved my life Yugi, thank you" I replied. I walked him home before waving goodbye.

Yugi's POV

I lay on my bed still confused on what happened earlier. I curled up carefully as to not aggravate my injury before removing my puzzle, placing it on my desk and going to sleep.

[The next morning]

I met up with Jonouchi as he had requested my assistance. I looked up as he and Honda walked up to me "this is who you expect me to ask advice from!?" Honda growled. "Come on Honda, Yugi's trustworthy" Jonouchi replied. I was roughly picked up by my neck "you tell anyone about what I'm about to tell you and I'll beat you to a pulp daily!" He hissed shaking me. Jonouchi forced him to release me "Yugi wouldn't tell anyone Honda, you can trust him" Jonouchi said. "I want to tell Miho how I feel about her but don't know how" Honda explained. I tilted my head "she likes games right?" I questioned. "Yes" Honda replied. "Why don't you get her a game, my grandpa has a wide variety of games" I responded. "That's right, Yugi's grandpa owns a game shop" Jonouchi said before I led the to the game shop. I had ended up with having to write a love letter to Miho for Honda on a blank puzzle.
