Subject 21

I open my eyes to a bright light shining above me. I stay silent and try to move, something was stopping me. I look to my wrist, chains are holding me down. I look around at my surroundings. One light bulb hangs above me. I look at my clothing, its similar to a hospital gown. I feel a sharp pain in my head. I can't remember anything. The door starts to open and a young women walks in.

"Your awake! I think I should tell you where you are." She starts to say. I stay silent, listening to every word.

"You are in a testing room. We swapped your DNA with another animal. In other terms, you aren't human." She says rather calmly.

"W-What?" I manage to blurt out.

"You are a neko. You are half cat, half human." She goes to my chains and takes them off slowly. I stand up and look behind my self, seeing a tail that is relevantly close to my hair color. I reach to the top of my head and feel ears. A tear starts to roll down my cheek.

"What did you do to me? I want to be a normal 16 year old girl. But you, you made me like this." I start to stumble backwards and fall against the wall crying.

"Subject-" I cut her off

"Subject?! Theres others like me?!" I start to shout. I feel a rush of anger run through me.

"You are sick! How could you do this?! No one deserves this!" I start to scream at the lady. I've had enough of this. I ran past the women pushing her out of the way. I ran out of the room, trying to find an escape of this torture. I rush to every door with tears streaming down my cheeks. I finally open a door and feel fresh air blow against me. I did it, I found a way out. I run outside trying to find help or anything. I feel a sharp pain in my shoulder, everything starts to fade and blur. I struggle to stay awake, my eyes shutting close. I open my eyes one last time to see the world disappear in front of me.

"N-No.." I mumble out before I blank out.

My eyes flutter open and I see a group of people surrounding me. They all have clipboards and are examining me. They all notice that I'm awake, each and everyone look at me.

"Welcome back Subject 21." They say in unison with grins on their faces.
