Prologe
Darkness falls-
This changes the game.
Stepping toward something new,
Shiny.
I smile as I notice-
She's just a doll,
No more than a foot tall.
No need to worry,
"She's harmless."
I sneer,
Laugh at her!
"She's just a doll!", I whisper, more to myself,
"Your just a doll!"
I scream at her!
I turn around and find nothing but darkness. Suddenly, I hear a voice- so soft and sweet but yet, I start trembling. Why am I shaking? The voice keeps talking to me but I can't comprehend what she's saying. She'? When did I decide that? I can't move, I'm stuck. I sence the holder of the voice coming closer, chanting something louder and LOUDER!
"Sch bin vager! Sch bin vager no-no!" She then says something that I reconize, "Keinth!" My name- Keinth! So she must know me from somewhere, but I don't remember! I can't remember anything but I somehow know that this is a game, I know that doll, and I know that voice.... How do I know that Keinth is my name? Startled at the relization the voice was now silent, I was able to move! I turn around slowly, dreading about what I might see. There, the doll was there! About seven feet closer to me, in arms length to touching me. Her right arm is outstreched, but what made me catch my breath is her face.
What once was beauty and joy is now contored into something dark and twisted. But her eyes!- they peare straight into mine, into my soul! They are pleading with me to save her! How? When I barley know myself- how am I supposed to save her when I don't remember anything?
Chapter 1
Two weeks earlier- "I have something very important to tell you." I ran to catch-up with Queen Moosa (aka my mother). She rolls her eyes while marching her favorite march to the royal guard for the monthly report and inspection, "No! I have too much to do and a very short time to do it!"I stepped in front of her, holding my hand up so she was forced to stop. When she does, her eyebrows go up and she purses her lips.
"Keinth, I really don't have time for this. I have to check the guards, make sure the younglings have better results than last month, and I have to talk to the cook about tonights Ball. So, what is so important that you can't wait until tomorrow?" She then gave me a stern look, the one she always gave the children when they disobeyed her.
"I've decided to take a mate tonight and in the future- be King of Gradula."
She looked ashtonished! Of course, having told her the complete opposite all my life, it didnt surprise me. "Why the sudden intrest?" She asked while narrowing her eyes.
I couldn't help but feel proud when I said, "I am now of age to and it is like you said, it's what my father would have wanted." Her eyes softened whenever I mentioned him. As far as what people have tod me, I never knew my father. He died before I was born- he was the Chief of the Gradula Army and died in battle. My mother used to tell me great stories of him- how he would ride straight into battle with his trusty mare, Alverta. How, when his mother made him go to the Pretarian Ball, he saw my mother and knew she was his. She said I looked just like him, except my jaw structure- that she claimed for herself. Of course, whenever I asked how he died, she always gave me the truth- he died but no one knew how. It was as if he got up in the middle of the night an disappeard! That part always bothered me. She agreed and I stepped out of her way.
