Piper's P.O.V:
I slowly slipped out of bed, trying not to wake Finn or Jake as i did so. It was around midnight and i didn't want to look at the book in front of the two hero's so that in case i accidentaly triggered a spell that would harm them or something.
The floor or at least what was left of it after the Ice King's little visit creaked noisily under my feet. I winced every time i thought Finn or Jake could hear it. Luckily, they never did. In the dark i had to feel my way around the rooms and hallways until i got to the ladder which lead to the living room. I then started to feel around for a lamp as soon as i thought no one would see it being lit. I turned on a small lantern that i found on a nightstand near the door of their bedroom.
As quietly as possible, i made my way down the ladder into the living room where i hid the The Magic User's Spell book under the couch cushions. The worn leather cover felt warm in my hands from sitting under the couch for a few hours. I carefully opened the book, trying not to rip the tattered, yellow pages. Most of the spells were written in a language i couldn't understand but some words were hi-lighted in yellow and some one wrote under the words in english so they wouldn't get the spells mixed up, i'm guessing. (Probably the Ice King.)
One spell in the back of the book seemed kind of familiar in a weird sort of way. Beautiful girl from another world, come to me and be my bride. There was also a reverse spell. Beautiful girl from another world, go home, i no longer desire you.
I gasped, this was the spell the Ice King used to bring me here. "Piper, what are you doing up this late?" Finn's voice peirced the silent air, causing me to jump.
I turned around to face him, dropping the book on the ground as i did. "Nothing. I just couldn't sleep is all."
Finn's hand reached out for The Magic Users Spell book, his eyes going over the reverse spell. "I found that in the snow after you found me and Jake. I think Ice King is the one who summoned me to the land of Ooo. Sorry i didn't tell you." I stared down at the floor shyly.
"It doesn't matter. At least now you have a way to get back to where you--" Finn faltered at this, realizing that i might want to go home.
I grabbed his hand and squeezed it, trying to comfort him. "Finn, it's okay. I'm not going to leave. Not yet anyway."
"Where do you come from Piper?"
This was the question i had been fearing from the moment i got here. Would it effect the way he thought of me? Would he still like-like me? I sighed, whatever his reaction might be he needed to know. "From Chicago, Illinois. I live in the United States of America in the year 2012. I'm from back in time..." I continued to stare down at my feet, occasionally looking up to see the reaction on his face.
There was silence for a long time before he spoke again. "I believe you. And i still want to be with you if this doesn't effect us."
I hugged Finn and gave him my gift from the dance, not knowing what else to do or say. We both pulled away after a long time, curious to see what else the mysterious spellbook held. I sat down on the couch, Finn right behind me with the book in hand, clutching my picture in the other. I didn't know it yet but this would soon replace Princess Bubblegum's clump of gooey pink hair as his prized possession.
There wasn't much that we could understand. Ice King only seemed to have hilighted the best spells. There were levitation spells, invisibility potions, instructions on how to make a protective amulet and so on. We scanned the whole book from cover to cover. Nothing in there was really something to stare at for hours in awe.
I jumped as Jake suddenly appeared over us, yawning. "Why are you guys up so late? And what is that you're reading?" He grabbed from Finn's lap and flipped around, looking at random pages. "Cool. Hey this looks like and interesting spell."
Before me and Finn could stop him from saying a spell aloud he started to chant the reverse spell that would send me back. Finn slapped the book out of his buddy's hands and screamed at him but it was too late. The dizziness had already set in. The sky outside began to thunder and a giant lightning bolt shot through the roof, making a giant crack appear in the ground that was quickly expanding. I shoved them away as they began to get closer to look in. "Get back!"
"Piper, oh my glob, i'm so sorry. I didn't know that would happen!" Jake tried to stretch out and grab me from against the wall so i wouldn't fall in but i stepped back, getting dangerously close to the growing chasm.
"Stop. You'll just fall in with me." Weird. He was saying sorry and actually trying to be kind towards me. Maybe he realized that i wasn't a threat.
Finn looked at me with panicky eyes. "We gotta get out of the house. You can't go back yet. I need you. I- i love you!"
"I love you too, Finn and i do want to stay. But the hole will only grow until it swallows Ooo or me." The dizziness was rapidly increasing now and i dropped to my knees. "Just... use the book to get me back here."
Finn and Jake's horrified face suddenly turned. the book was still on the ground from when he slapped it to the floor. It was now dangerously close to tilting off the edge of the gaping chasm. I groggily crawled forward and with shaky fingers i picked up The Magic User's Spell book. The lightweight book felt like one thousand pounds. My hand muscles felt like jello. I dropped the book and it fell into the bottomless pit with me following shortly after.
Like last time, i fell for what seemed like a very long time until i saw a light at the end of the tunnel. My body, starting with my legs and going up slowly turned back to it's normal more-human-like look instead of the previous cartoony adventure time themed look.
I landed roughly on my couch in the apartment, dazed. I glanced over at the clock. 4:27. Around the time i fell through the hole. Weird. Time hadn't passed at all since i was gone and i was there for a few days.
I groaned in frusteration, i was home again. Finn and Jake had no way to get me back to their time and place all because stupid me couldn't hold onto a lousy book. I grabbed it from off the floor and tossed it aside. I might never see Finn again.
End of book one.
Hey y'all. Okay so there will be a second book of this but it wont be out for awhile because i have to figure out everything first. Plus, i have this other epic story i'm brainstorming up. Sorry :). I'll also try to not take as long with the next book. I'm sorry this chapter took so long. I was really busy with school and family and stuff. Anyway, i'm prolly boring you with my constant yammering. Don't forget to comment, vote and fan. What time is it? ADVENTURE TIME!!!
