Malik's POV
I was curled up next to Yugi "can I please have some of your cat treats" I pleaded to the tiny kitten. He looked at me "call him by name if you want to ask him something" Priest Seto yawned. I sighed and swallowed my pride "little prince, may I please have some of your cat treats?" I asked sweetly. He hissed, I jumped back now feeling bad for asking "I know you're hesitant to trust people with your food but I'm never going to steal your stuff little prince, I promise" I purred. He calmed down "ok, take four treats. Rex and Weevil already ate half the bag of treats earlier, so there isn't much left" he replied sadly. I glared at the two cats "Roxy bought those treats for Yugi only!" I hissed. "ROXY! REX AND WEEVIL ARE BULLYING YUGI AGAIN!" I shouted to the fox shifter. She walked into the room with a spray bottle and sprayed the cats in the face "last warning you two, next time I'll put you in the box!" She growled before tossing another bag of treats to Yugi. 12 treats were placed in front of me "here" Yugi purred happily. I purred head bumping him. "You're welcome Malik" he mewed happily. I munched on 6 of my treats and gave the other six to my hikari. The small cat head bumped me "my pleasure Marik" I purred, I was laying on top of my hikari. Yami was laying on his back with his hikari on his belly, he was the most protective of his hikari out of all of us. Bakura was curled up against Baku's back. "Malik, can you please get off me. I'm having trouble breathing" Marik pleaded. I quickly got up, flopped onto my side and curled around him protectively. "Sorry aibou" I replied. He nuzzled me "it's ok" Marik purred before falling asleep. I looked over at Baku who wasn't paying attention to me, I had feelings for him but it was hard to admit them. I was awful when it came to anything romantic.
Yugi's POV
I looked around and noticed 6 other kittens beside me, we were curled up next to our mother cat. I looked up at my mother, I was the runt of the litter. She hissed before kicking me out of the box and whacking me. I bolted as fast as my tiny legs would carry me. I tripped over my own paws and rolled head over tail across the ground before crashing into a wall. I cried terrified as I got up and sought shelter. I wondered around frightened, jumping as thunder boomed and I bolted into a warehouse. I cowered as some humans walked into the building. "It's ok little one, no one is going to hurt you. You must be terrified but don't worry, you're safe now" a man said gently coaxing me over to him. The man had tricolor hair, soft golden bangs with three bangs sticking up like lightning bolts, black hair with red ends. His eyes were crimson but very warm and welcoming. I was a tiny black kitten with large amethyst eyes, I had long golden fur on my head that looked like bangs and long purple tipped fur that spiked slightly upwards on my head. I crawled over to the man desperate for love and affection. "Hey little one, my name is Atem, do you have a name" Atem asked politely. I placed my right front paw on the ground and traced a y onto the ground "y" Atem said. I traced a u "u" he said. I then traced another u "u. Yuu" he replied. I traced a g and then an i. "Yuugi?" Atem asked, I nodded. "Ok Yuugi, do you have anyone with you?" He asked curious. I shook my head sadly "oh, where is your mother little one. You're much too young to be away from her" Atem said, I mewed sadly nudging his hand "oh you're very small for a kitten your age. Oh! Your the runt aren't you?" He questioned. I nodded "so your mother abandoned you?" He asked, I nodded. "Well that's her loss, I'm going to take over your care. Ok little one?" Atem asked politely. I purred happily and nodded causing my golden locks of fur to shake "oh, that's an interesting fur style, golden locks of fur in front of your cute little ears and long spiked black fur with purple tips down the back of your head. I've never seen a cat as unique as you, your like me. Different from everyone else, I was afraid I was the only one with tricolor hair. My eyes are crimson which isn't normal and you have beautiful amethyst eyes" Atem said lovingly. I smiled up at him and he looked shocked "wait, have you been responding to me?" He asked confused. I nodded "you understand me?" I nodded again. He tucked me into his jacket pocket and ran towards his house. He gently placed me on the floor "you're a very unique kitten, not only your tricolor fur but the ability to understand human language" Atem said before picking me up and using a liquid dropper to feed me. I purred happily, grateful to have been rescued by such a kind hearted human. I yawned before stretching out, I was laying on Yami's belly. "Good morning aibou" he said yawning. "Good morning Yami, I had a dream about my life before being Heba. I was a cat in a past life" I purred. "You never told me what my name was" Yami said. I tilted my head "Atem" I simply replied. "Come again?" He questioned. I stood up "may I have everyone's attention, I have something to say" I shouted loudly. Everyone was now listening to me "I wish to reveal Yami's surname!" I shouted before climbing on top of Malik's head "the pharaoh's name is Atem!" I shouted happily. "Pharaoh Atem" I purred. "Also I was a cat in a past life!" I shouted before being knocked off Malik by Weevil. I slammed roughly into the ground "oww!" I hissed. I struggled to my paws and cried unable to handle this. "RAKURAI! CHANGE US BACK NOW!" I shouted feeling defeated. A bolt of lightning struck down a few feet in front of me. "You called tiny kitten?" He questioned. I froze as a sence of Déjà vu washed over me "why do I feel like I've heard you say that before?" I questioned confused. "Maybe it's the same reason I was drawn to you kitten" he replied curiously. "Please change us back to normal" I pleaded before he snapped his fingers "this will all feel like dream, you will wake up in your own rooms" Rakurai said before vanishing.
[Time skip]
I curled up in Atem's hand, happy to have someone who loves me for who I am. I looked up as my best friend was watching Naruto. I purred as he gently pet my head, I was barely bigger than his thumb. He was so sweet and gentle, I was placed in a Guinea pig bed because anything else was too big. I curled up and fell asleep. [The next morning] I woke up to Atem gently picking me up and feeding me some warm milk with a liquid dropper. I purred happily as he placed me in his hair and headed off to school "stay hidden Yuugi, I don't want anyone to see you. I'm not supposed to have anything not school related at school" Atem said sweetly. I could see everything from my point of view, I watched as my buddy met up with his friends. "Hey Atem, what's up" the female of the group said. "Hey Tea, I'm good. I actually want to introduce you to a new friend I made yesterday" Atem said before gently picking me up and revealing me to his friends. "This is Yuugi, he's the runt of his litter and his mother abandoned. I found him hiding in the old warehouse. Yuugi, this is Tea, Joey and Tristan" he introduced. I mewed politely "he says it's nice to meet you" Atem translated. "He's cute" Tea said gently touching my nose. "He's so tiny" Joey said touching my paws. "He's so young and defenseless, it's sad that his mother abandoned him just because he was so tiny" Tristan said gently taking me from my friend's hand. I nuzzled his thumb, glad that my master's friends liked me. Atem quickly placed me back in his hair as an adult passed by. He and his friends headed to class, I watched as Atem took down notes in each of his classes. I whined as my stomach growled "hey Atem, your kitten is younger than a week which means you need to feed him every three hours" Joey said. "It's a good thing I brought the powdered kitten formula with me" he said before gently placing me on the table and pulling out a container of formula. He used the liquid dropper to feed me. I purred happily but panicked as the teacher stood in front of Atem "Atem! You're not supposed to have animals in class" she said. "I'm sorry Mrs. Tenshi, he's a runt that was abandoned by his mother. I have to feed him every three hours, he would die if I left him at home" he explained. "Oh that's ok then but you're other teachers might not be as easy to convince, if you want I can care for him and you can pick him up after school" she replied. Atem gently placed me in her hand, handed her the container of formula and the liquid dropper "What's his name?" Tenshi asked. "Yuugi" Atem replied. [6 hours later] I looked up as Atem walked into the room "I'm here to pick up my kitten" he said before Tenshi gently placed me in Atem's hair "you should have someone watch your kitten when you're at school" she suggested. "I'll be sure to do that" he replied before heading home. Atem gently placed me on the floor "I'll be back before your next feeding time, be good little one" he said before leaving, locking the door. I looked around the room, it was gigantic from my point of view. I climbed up the curtain and onto the window sill, I watched as humans walked past with some stopping and smiling at me, I smiled back, shocking them. I was startled as someone knocked on the front door, I stared confused. I climbed down the curtain before sprinting to the other window and peeking out. The human at the door didn't look friendly, I remembered a trick I saw another cat once do. I took a deep breath and let out a loud bark, the man jumped and bolted. I jumped in joy as I heard the front door unlock and my best friend walked in. "Awww, Yuugi. Did you miss me?" He asked before picking me up and feeding me. I jolted awake and looked around confused *we're back to normal, that means the four of us are back in our soul rooms* <it's good to be back> /it was fun while it lasted/ +you sleep well little prince?+ 《I had another dream about my life as a cat》 *did you have a good life as a cat?* 《my mother abandoned me because I was a runt but you're past self saved me by adopting me》 <you still are a runt> 《I don't care, all that matters is that I have friends who accept and love me for who I am》 +that's the spirit little prince+ I got up and headed downstairs "Yugi!? I was so worried when you didn't come home for the past four days" my grandpa said hugging me worried. "I would have but someone changed me and my friends into cats" I replied. My grandpa smiled at me "I'm just glad you're back" he said. "It's good to be back" I replied. I looked up as the door opened and someone walked in "hello again little kitten" they said.
