Author's Note
Hey guys I can't believe all of the support for Claimed the first book. This means a lot to me having such great feedback and interactions with you guys. In high school no one was interested in my writing, and because of that I gave up on writing for pleasure. But now I'm more determined to focus on my craft and give you guys joy. I don't mean to sound corny. Anyways enjoy!
"We must go, Viktor sent trackers. His best men."
She grabs my wrist gently tugging me along.
"Hold on. I don't even know you. I've been waiting to meet you. I've dreamed about this day. This is not how I imagined it."
"You need to put your faith in me, like you have in Xael. Can you do that?"
"I can't leave without mother. She is sick and needs care."
"She is dead. I'm sorry there is nothing we can do. They drained her dry of blood, once they found where you were living."
Heart pounding, tears dripping softly down my cheeks as it begins to be hard to breath.
"I..I..I... I can save her. My tears, they can bring someone from the dead. I've done it before. I can do it again. Just give me time. We need more time."
"She can't be revived my child. She is too old to undergo the process and you are too weak. There is a block on your soul. Come, the door won't stay open forever."
"I can't leave Xael! They will kill him. I need to give myself over to Viktor. I can't have dead werewolves on my conscience."
"I do not wish to drug you Winnie, please. Come with me. I will explain everything once we are safe."
"How do they know my scent? Only Xael can smell me!"
"I don't have time to explain my child, come."
Grudgingly she pulls me along as we rush through the bramble and underbrush. It scratches at my exposed skin. Hesitantly she stops in front of a large oak tree letting go of my wrist as she whispers a small set of words unbeknownst to me while touching the oak's bark with her hand. My eyes watch in amazement as the tree splinters and cracks opening up the center of the tree.
Is this a new world...
