Meliodas began listing a variety of drills for Zeldris to do. The boy stood there struggling to remember them all. After finishing, he sat down on a log to watch.
Zeldris began going through a drill involving hellblaze. Meliodas had created a spike made of darkness a couple feet away from Zeldris and told him to do his best to melt it.
Zeldris began sweating heavily as he got to the fourth drill. Meliodas closed eyes, slightly disappointed. He could at least get through ten drills at Zeldris' age. After the fifth one, Zeldris sank to the ground. Meliodas shook his head and stood up.
"Get up," Meliodas ordered.
"What?"
"Get up," Meliodas repeated. Zeldris slowly stood up, facing Meliodas timidly. They were silent for a second until Meliodas suddenly shoved Zeldris into the water. He fell head first with Meliodas holding his foot to keep him from hitting his head. He then let go letting the boy flop onto his back.
Zeldris shot up, breathing heavily. "What was that for?!" Zeldris exclaimed. He shook his head, stopping when he saw Meliodas throwing his shoes off. He sat down and hung his feet in the water. Meliodas turned to him with a flat face.
"You looked hot," Meliodas stated. A smirk grew onto his but quickly disappeared when Zeldris kicked water at him. Zeldris laughed good-naturedly. Meliodas gave him a glare that withered his confidence. Meliodas bent over and grabbed his ankles. Zeldris' face went white as Meliodas began lifting him off his feet. He then swung Zeldris in a circle and chucked Zeldris into the middle of the lake.
Zeldris popped his head above the surface of the water and saw Meliodas laughing with a smile on his face. Suddenly, despite floating in freezing water, he felt warm. He swam and was helped out by Meliodas. The smile stayed in his mind, even after they went back.
