Jayden Hunter's POV:

When we are young, we all have hopes that high school will be some of the best years of our lives. We try to plan out what those four years will be like. We hope that they are filled with amazing experiences and friends. We hope the memories will be some of the best ones we can create.

However, high school is never anything like we want it to be. It is a vicious place that will destroy even the nicest of people. Don't get me wrong, for some, it will be the best years of their lives; but for others, like me, it will be absolute hell.

In all of my 17 years of life, I have never been so conflicted. I can honestly say that I am having an existential crisis like none other. Like many, I thought that life is supposed to be an incredible adventure, but for me, it seems to be the complete opposite.

I honestly could not tell you how many times that I have fucked up or been screwed over these last few years and it only seems to continue. What's the point of even living if life will just continue to be a disaster?

I don't know, and it pains me to say that I wish I were never born. Maybe I should just kill myself; it's not like I would be missing anything. My life already sucks enough. Why not just end it before it gets any worse? That would be the humane thing to do - end all of my misery now.

I didn't always feel like this, nor did these feelings suddenly appear. I used to be pretty happy go lucky person, but life has a funny way of fucking us over.

Read on to see how I went from living my best life to "Fading Into Oblivion."
