I wrapped another peice of my hair around the curling iron.
A loud beeping sound came from the kitchen. The cookies are done.
I set the curling iron down and hurried into the kitchen where I pulled out the chocolate chip cookies.
Jason had called me this morning to ask me to bring my favorite treat to the dinner. Besides ice cream, chocolate chip cookies are my favorite.
I went back to my bedroom to finish my hair and make-up.
Ten minutes later, I put the cookies on a plate and drove to Jackson's house.
Jason had texted me the adress of his brother's house earlier so I could find it. He also texted that it was yellow.
I pulled up in front of the driveway.
"Here we go," I said outloud to myself.

Holding the plate of cookies, I knocked on the front door.
The door opened but I didn't see anyone.
"Mommy, it's Kelsy!"
I looked down to see little Madi holding the door.
"Hi, Madi!" I smiled, "Can I come in?"
Jason walked over and opened the door wider.
"Hey, Kelsey."
Jason and I locked eyes.
"Jason, don't just stare at her! Let her come in!" I heard Jackson from inside the house.
"Oh, yeah, sorry," Jason scratched his head and let me come in.
"I brought cookies," I handed him the plate of cookies so I could take my coat and boots off.
Jason shut the door and took the plate.
Madi gave me a hug.
"I'm so glad you could make it! Mommy just finished putting up the mistle-toe and I helped her because I've never seen anybody kiss before except for Mommy and Daddy and on movies," Madi took a breath, "I think Uncle Jason wants to kiss you 'cause he was waiting all day for you and I want to see him kiss somebody before he turns to an old man."
I blushed at what this innocent girl was saying.
"But if Uncle Jason does try to kiss you, tell him to wait so I can watch!"
"Okay, that's enough Madi," Jason pushed her along, clearly embarrassed for what his niece just let out.
I laughed.
Jason met my gaze and locked eyes.
I blushed and turned away, noticing some flour on his cheek.
Without thinking I reached up and brushed it off with my fingers.
Jason smiled and chuckled.
"Your hand is cold."
Embarrassed, I quickly pulled my hand away.
"You had some flour on your cheek."
Jason laughed, "Yeah, I've been cooking all day."
"No you haven't!" Heather playfully called from the kitchen.
Heather stepped out of the kitchen, wipping her hands off with her apron.
"It's time to eat. Are you two love birds coming or not?" Heather winked at me.
"Love birds!" Jason walked over to his sister-inlaw, "I was just merely welcoming her to your humble home."
"Here, she brought coookies," Jason handed her the plate of cookies.
