My head swam as I hurriedly made my way through the crowd, occasionally walking into people, but keeping my head down always. I had to get out of there. It was all too much. My palms were sweaty and my breathing heavy, but as I caught sight of the exit, a surge of energy got me past the last couple of people and I was outside. Finally! I turned around to close the door, and heard a voice calling my name. I stopped, staring inside, trying to locate the position of the voice, but I couldn't see anyone that I knew. Brushing it off, I closed the door and slowly took a step forward. I looked around and saw a bench just up the path. It was perfect, I could sit down for a while, calm down and then go back inside like nothing ever happened. I walked swiftly towards it, and sat down. Thinking. Thinking about what had made me like this. Then I remembered the events of the past few days, and simply broke down. I had been strong for too long, and as I felt the tears rolling down my cheeks, I came up with a plan on how to sneak back in without people noticing. I was so concentrated on this, that I stopped crying and didn't hear the door clock open, and hear the footsteps coming towards me. So when I saw a figure stop just short of me, I jumped and shouted in shock.
'Oh no, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you!'  It said
Looking up, I realised it was only Brandon.
Only Brandon. He was okay. But what was he doing out here?
'What are you doing here?' I asked bluntly.
He smirked down at me, and followed this up with
'What a nice way to greet me'
'Shut up'
Still smirking, he sat down next to me and said
'There's way too many people in there, it's all stuffy. And I saw you come out here, and I wanted to make sure you were okay'
Wait what? Brandon wanted to make sure I was okay? He was so sweet, as well at cute! He actually cared about me. He was-
'Zoey?'
'Oh right! Yeah I'm fine, what about you?' He gave me a look that clearly said 'I know you aren't okay' and I melted. He was trustworthy, right? I'm sure I could trust him. He was Brandon after all!
'Umm just some family problems, that's all. And like you said, it's way too stuffy in there, I just wanted some fresh air'
He looked at me again, and his face showed a lot of concern. It was then I realised that I was wearing mascara, that had obviously run, showing that I'd been crying.
'You've been crying'
'Uhh yeah but I'm fine, honestly I am!'
Those eyes. As I stared at him in awe, he placed his arm on my shoulder and I saw his face draw closer to mine.
'You aren't okay. Is there anything I could do to make it better?'
'Well ma-'
I was cut off as he placed his lips on mine. A wave of relief came over me, as what I had wanted for months now had finally become reality.
And we completely lost track of time, so when people stared to come through the door, we jumped. And arranged a date. February 14th, at 10:00, in the cafe on the corner
