(Eren's P.O.V.)

Today was Friday, if I wanted to spare myself from the being a last-minute moron I have to tell Levi about the party today. No back outs Eren.

I sat on the couch transposing a song from treble to bass clef, something I had no trouble in since I know how to play piano and use both on the daily. Levi was working next to me, typing away on his laptop. He said it himself, he'd rather work out in the living room next to me than alone in the office. After a while, he started watching me work. For every note I saw, I wrote it on another sheet of paper with a staff in its corresponding spot.

"What are you doing?" Levi finally asked.

"Just simple stuff. I'm basically copying this song over to this one." I said motioning to the papers.

"Then why are the dots on different lines?" He asked, obviously not a musical person he was confused.

I chuckled, "This paper is in treble clef, which is just a fancy way of saying how the notes are laid on these lines. I have to write them in bass clef, which has the notes in different positions on them. So it's the same notes but just a spot down...in basic terms."

"So what's the point of two different places for a single note?" He asked.

I tried to come up with an answer to his completely fair question. "Well, treble is for the higher sounds and bass is for the lower ones so I guess... they... shut uuup!" I finally complain when I couldn't give him an answer he would understand. Hell, I don't even know. "It just is ok? At least I know how to read each so it's not that important."

"Ok then." He says and goes back to typing.

"Besides you're a writer so explain to me why the 'I before E except after C' is a rule even though there is like... 12 words that don't."

"Are." He blankly states.

"What?"

"You said there is like 12 words, you were supposed to say there are like 12 words since 12 is plural."

Oh, you have got to be kidding me.

He continues, "But I don't know, I didn't invent the English language, I just use it, and there are a lot more than 12." He looks over to me and sees my annoyed expression from his grammar fix. I pout and go back to my own work. At least I have one thing that he doesn't get in that big head of his.

He closed his laptop after another few minutes and sighed. He got up and brought his laptop back to his office. He returned with a book and sits back in his spot but leans back against the armrest, sitting across the couch with his legs pulled up. He pushed up his glasses and began to read quietly.

I started to think about the party. Farlan texted me earlier that he was sorry about the things he said. He didn't mean to accuse Levi but just get the point across. I accepted his apology and asked him about the last relationship he was talking about. He said he almost lost all of his friends and family due to his first boyfriend. Then he said he was gonna look for girls for a while which made me laugh a bit. Now, I was trying to word the things I wanted to say.

"Hey, Levi?" I asked timidly as I put my folder away.

"Hmm?" He hummed not looking up from the book.

I shifted in my spot and continued, "So, I know you have an appointment on Sunday morning and I said I would be there and I will. But I've realized I haven't been being fair to Armin recently and haven't hung out with him for a while. He invited me to a party tomorrow night and I know it's a little last minute but I told him I would try to go with him."
