                        Jungkook
You had grown up with Jungkook and even remembered the day your father had introduced you. Y/N, this is Jungkook. Since Uncle Jeon has gone to a very far away place, Jungkook will be staying with us from now on. Take good care of each other." You were at an age that you were old enough to understand. You knew that your father, as the head of the mafia, was considered a bad man by normal standards. And you also knew that a far away place meant that Jungkook's father died in the line of work. As the two of you grew up together, Jungkook became the one person you trusted the most. He had taken your father's words to heart. He was there whether you needed a friend or a sparring partner. He protected you with the fiercest loyalty. You knew that when the day came for you to take over your father's position, Jungkook would be there with you. And the more time the two of you spent together, the more in love you fell with one another. Your father approved. He had basically raised Jungkook and regarded him as his own son. It helped that he had groomed Jungkook to be the perfect killing machine. Your father knew that in Jungkook's care, his precious only child would be safe. But more than that, Jungkook was the one person who understood you. He had grown up in the same violent world that you did and your shared experiences created an unbreakable bond.
~~~~~
It was the middle of the night when you woke up with an uneasy feeling. Feeling the spot next to you, you became alert when you realized that Jungkook was no longer lying in bed next to you. It wasn't long before he returned in a state of panic. Blood was smeared across his cheek and he had a gun in one hand, another conveniently located in his waistband. He quickly locked the door before turning to face you.
"Y/N," Jungkook softly called out. "Get dressed quickly and grab all the guns in this room. Do you remember how to open the door? I've got the keys already." You didn't need to be told twice. This was something you rehearsed multiple times growing up. In case of any rivals infiltrating your home, your father had built a secret pathway that connected your room to a small garage hidden on the edge of your property. Only four people knew of this: your father, your mother, Jungkook and yourself. You rushed over to open the hidden panel in the wall after grabbing all the weapons you could find. Jungkook followed you in and closed the door behind him to ensure nobody could follow you. When the two of you reached the garage, you noticed that your father's getaway vehicle was still parked. Kook, is my father coming?" Jungkook stilled in his movements. Slowly, he tucked his gun away before gently pulling you into his arms. You laid your head in the crook of his neck as he softly stroked your hair. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I did everything I could." You could hear the tears in his voice and you knew that this was just as great of a loss for him as it was for you.
What happened?" you asked through your grief.
"There was a rat. Big Lee struck a deal with the new arms dealer in town and led his men into the house tonight. We had no way of seeing this coming."
Hatred burned through you and you longed to use the ruthless skills that had been taught to you over the past many years.
"I'll kill him," you hissed.
"We'll do it together. For now, we need to leave and get to the safe house," Jungkook urged, letting you go so he could start the car. You grabbed his hand before he could get too far.
"Will you stay with me, Jungkook?"
"Every step of the way, Y/N."
