I had just moved to Sunnydale with my parents and younger brother, he was a lot younger than me so we hadn't really bonded but I loved him a lot and looked after him when I could.
It was late, maybe 10ish and I was roaming the streets to get a feeling of what kind of place we had moved to. I was close to a cemetery when I heard yelling and muffled sounds close by. I walked a bit further just to see people fighting? Was that it? I wasn't sure so I got closer and hid by a gigantic tree. I could see three teenagers fight other people but then they just disappeared. What was going on? I could hear them saying something but couldn't really make out what was said, suddenly one of them ran towards the other end of the cemetery. I was just about to say "Look out!" But she made her way in to a newly dug grave. I ran towards the grave and looked down.
-Need a hand? I asked and reached out my left hand for her to grab.
She looked at me for a while but then took my hand and I helped her up.
-Who are you? She asked me with a concerned look on her face. And what are you doing here?
-I just passed by and heard noises from here, I have a passionate love towards graveyards and wanted to be sure no one was destroying anything.
Just then the other two came running towards us. A girl with bright red hair and a taller guy with very wide shoulders.
-Buffy are you ok? They both asked almost at the same time.
-Yeah, I'm fine, she said brushing dirt of from her clothes.
-Who's this? The red headed girl asked.
-I don't know, she hasn't told me her name yet.
-Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Y/N.
-Nice to meet you Y/N, I'm Buffy, this is Willow and Xander.
-Nice meeting you too, I said with a smile.
-You must be new around here, right? Xander asked.
-Yes, I moved in yesterday with my parents and little brother, starting school tomorrow.
-Wait, where did Spike go? Willow asked and started to look around.
-He can take care of himself, Buffy answered.
-Right...Willow replied.
-So, what's up with this whole black attire? I almost didn't see you except your face and your hand as you reached down to help me up. Buffy asked.
-Well... I started but was interrupted by Willow screaming "Watch out".
Buffy grabbed something from her coat and turned around and started to run (the thing she held in her hand looked like some kind of wooden stake), I stared at her as she rushed towards some kind of human looking creature even though it wasn't a human, that was obvious. She hit it in the chest and then poof, it was gone.
Buffy turned around.
-Welcome to Sunnydale, the city where the sun shines during the day and monsters comes out at night! She said with her arms stretched out.
I just stood there with my jaw dropped, not sure what to say.
-Are you ok? Xander asked.
-I think so...I answered.
-Guess you haven't seen a vampire before?
-No, I didn't even know they existed.
-They do and they are violent little bastards, but quite easy to kill when you got the hang of it though. Buffy implied walking back to us.
