chapter one

When I was just a pup my mother used to sit me on her knee and tell me story's of where she had been and what she had done, she used to tell me about the beautiful beaches of the low lands and the stunning mountain ranges of the high lands, she used to tell me about my grandparents and how they died fighting in a war between the races. How my grandfather sacrificed himself for peace between the four nation's, the werewolves which are us, we control the Midlands, the vampires who live in the caves in the mountains of the highlands, the witches who live in the tropical forests of the lowlands and the rogues, the rogues are the outcasts from each race, they joined together and live in a place forbidden by the elders. We call it Greenwood Forest.

"Alex! Where are you?" Yells the pack leader coincidentally my father. "Coming dad!" I jump down from the branch I was sitting on, I mush have been daydreaming again, it's was a twenty foot drop but a landed it with ease, perks of being a werewolf. "Alex how many times have I told you not to leave the cabin without telling me!" "Sorry Dad but Maggie was sweeping and you know how much I hate dust." Maggie is my stepmother, she is also a stuck up bitch who loves making my life a living hell, though I would never say that to her face I often think about how much I would like to slap that smug look off her face whenever I get into trouble. " I don't care if you don't like the dust! You are not allowed to leave the cabin unless I say otherwise!" "Yes father it won't happen again." I say looking at my feet, rule number one of being a werewolf never stare directly into the alphas eyes. "I order you not to come out of that cabin until you are ready to except your fate as the next alpha of this pack!" With that he turns away towards the town hall, probably to meet with the pack elders. An Alphas command cannot be ignored, I find my legs moving me towards our cabin without my permission, the only way to be free of an Alphas command is to either except it, have another Alpha counter act it or to leave the pack.
