I moaned from the sun-light against my face. My mind is fuzzy, the last remnants of a dream being chased away by the realisation that I am now awake. Waking up was most certainly not one of my favourite things to do. With a mental sigh I allow my brain to focus and cautiously open one eye. The bright summer sunlight cuts the room in half. I pull the duvet up over my head to keep it out. It's not going to work, my brain is awake now. I swing my legs out of my very comfortable and warm bed and make my way downstairs to the kitchen collecting the post that lay lifelessly on the floor. I began shuffling through them to see if there was anything important.

"Bill, bill, bill, junk, jun-" I paused as I saw a small envelope with Miss Ivy Summers written beautifully on the front. It could not have been delivered with the rest of the post as my address was not written on the envelope. I placed the others letters on the kitchen work top and carefully opened the envelope trying not to tear it. Inside was a folded piece of headed paper from Bramingwood Industries home of the largest chain of hotels across England. As my eyes scanned the paper I noticed the same beautiful scripted handwriting as was on the envelope. I began to read the letter as I boiled the kettle for my daily morning caffeine fix.

Dear Miss Summers,

I would like to invite you to a job interview on Thursday 28th August at 11:30 at Bramingwood Industries Floor 25. I understand that you have not applied for any vacancy at my company however looking at your online CV I am more than confident that you are the lady to fill this role.

I look forward to meeting your acquaintance.

Chase Bramingwood

Bramingwood Industries.

Confusion.

Job interview?

CV?

Acquaintance?

Lady? Ha, no ones ever called me a lady before.

If I hadn't been so curious I would have thrown the letter away however this was the Chase Bramingwood, taking over his fathers company at the age of twenty two and becoming the youngest most successful businessman of 2012. Ok, so I may have read a couple of reports and interviews in my spare time but hey I have nothing else better to do. However to ruin all of this, I know he is a cocky arrogant little shit. He has women and girls from the age of at least sixteen fawning over him and nearly every aspiring businessman wanted to be like him, or him. If you ask me he was handed every thing on a shiny silver plate from daddy and the fame really went to his head. You couldn't look in a newspaper or magazine without seeing some kind of article associated with the great Chase Bramingwood, whether it be how well his company was doing or who the new whore was on his arm at a recent event.

Inclined to throw the invitation in the bin and forget all about it, my job at the restaurant wasn't exactly the best pay and a company like this would pay a hell of a lot more even if the job was cleaning the toilets.

Today was Monday so I had three days until the interview and time to prepare, although honestly I did not know what to prepare. I did not know what the job was, only the time and place. I decided not to think too much about it and finished my breakfast and made my way to work.

"What!" I scream in disbelief. I am currently sitting in my employer office at the back of the restaurant.

"I really am sorry Ivy" Liar. Sitting there in his fancy suit thinking he's better than me. Bastard.

"No your not you know how much I need this job what am I supposed to do now?"

"I know I know and I am really sorry but business hasn't been doing too well recently and I can't afford to pay your wages".

"You know what stick your stupid bloody job this restaurant's shit anyway. I'm surprised you an even call it a restaurant. " and with that I grabbed my belongings and stormed out slamming the door on my way out. I can't believe this. What the hell am I supposed to do now? I have no job, and no job means no money, and no money means I can't afford to pay the bills. Shit.

Sitting in a job centre for two hours applying for any jobs I can isn't exactly what I would class as fun. So far I have applied for eight sales assistant jobs, four waitressing jobs and two secretarial positions. Hopefully one of them comes through but for now I will be searching everyday online and coming back to the job centre. I decided to call it a day and made the long walk back to my house.

Returning home, I was greeted by Fifi, my gorgeous kitten. She wound herself around my leg and began purring. She had soft, fluffy black and white fur with piercing blue eyes that you could lose yourself in. God, it sounds like I'm talking about a boy. I could always guarantee her putting me in a good mood, and already I was feeling better. As I made my way to the kitchen to get Fifi some food I noticed the letter I had opened earlier this morning for a job interview. Maybe I would go for this job interview after all. I have nothing to lose. "Maybe things will start to look up" I whispered to Fifi as I stroke her fur.
