Chapter 1...
Staring out of the window she sighed noticing the crowds of teenagers walking through the school gates, It seemed only yesterday she was one of them, nervously clutching her bag and best friends hand as they entered the college, and now here she was a teacher with her own class. She managed to drink the remains of her now cold coffee before the door opened and a group emerged noisely taking their seats as the chatted about what they'd got up to over the holidays. As the bell rang she waited patiently for the class to stop talking so she could start the class.
"Hi, I'm Miss Cox, I'll be your form teacher and taking you for History, yes I am new, but I have been warned about you." She chuckled as the class laughed, "As it's your first day back we aren't going to do anything too taxing, we'll start with a get to know you exercise." The class groaned, "Come on you lot amuse me, it'll give me chance to at least remember your names. If it helps, I'll go first."
"My name is Claire, but you can call me Miss Cox, I like music, hate jelly and had a pretty dull summer vacation."
The class soon got into the flow- Claire had drawn a class diagram and noted down each of their names, a boy with dark curly hair then stood up. "I'm Harry, I love music, hate Maths and on my summer holiday I ate pizza and auditioned for the Xfactor."
Claire then looked at the student in front of her, his dark curly hair framing a pair of eyes that were gazing at her intensely, she felt her heartbeat speed up and inwardly cursed herself for the almost immediate attraction she seemed to have towards one of her pupils, trying to remain professional she chose to focus on the information he'd just given her. "So the Xfactor?" He nodded. "How did you get on?"
"I can't say much, but I have been told my audition should be on the TV in the next couple of weeks."
"Well I'm sure the class and myself will be cheering for you."
He smiled before he sat down
Soon the session was over, Claire had the next period free before she was off to attempt to get 17 year olds interested in Victorian Politics. Staring at the class list in front of her she couldn't help but focus on one name on the list, Harry Styles. She shook her head, put the paper in her desk drawer and slammed it shut before needing to escape the claustrophobic environment of the classroom.
