Diana's dress is above, along with what I picture her to look like. ^^^^

**SIDE NOTE**: This used to be the first chapter, but I decided that I needed to add more detail and backstory, so I made another first chapter, and completely changed the storyline in this chapter, so readers who saw the original chapter, please reread! Everything is changed now. Thank you for your time, and enjoy!

I woke up to the sound of my sister's alarm wailing through the walls of her room, seeping into mine. The muffled noises of Taylor Swift's song, "22", is enough to wake anyone up. How can anyone stand that girl? I never understood Vivian and her music selections. On top of that, she won't turn her alarm off until I start banging on the wall- she's as lazy as me when it comes to waking up. Although I didn't want to start the day, I hesitantly stood up, walking over to my bathroom.

I grabbed my phone, put on "Thank u, Next" by Ariana Grande, (SIDE NOTE: I'm not a fan of her, but this song is pretty good. Thank you, next (; ) and slid into the shower. After 30 minutes, I got out, wrapping my fluffy towel around my curvy frame. Father and mother had informed me to dress nicely, so I decided to put on a basic black spaghetti-strap dress. I left my hair slightly wavy, as I wasn't the type of girl to play around with my hair often. At the smell of cinnamon rolls, I excitedly walked down the stairs.

I entered the kitchen, only to see Gemma and my mom laughing and icing cinnamon rolls that were cooling on a tray. Leave it up for these two to ice cinnamon rolls before they're done cooling. "Good morning, sleeping beauty," said my mother. "Diana! You finally woke up! Look at these delicious cinnamon rolls that we made for you!" said Gem, probably only excited because she knows that she'll be the one eating them all. "Thank you guys! I love you both so much," I said sarcastically, as they had already started to dig in. I've got to say, I'm impressed that they can eat 4 cinnamon rolls combined in under 2 minutes. This is my family summed up in one breakfast.

Giovanni's Point of View

I boarded the plane with Diana on my mind. From the time I saw her when we were kids, I knew that she was my mate. Not many alphas possessed this power, so I decided to keep this information to myself.

I've been waiting for a long time to get what's mine, but for the first time in my life, I feel defeated. I've taken undocumented, secret trips down to Los Angeles just to check up on amore mio. I noticed that she would hang out with the beta, Devin, and that boiled my blood. I knew that my mate was loyal, but I still wanted to rip his head off. How dare he be so close with my future luna?

I've been trying to think of possible scenarios for what would happen when I meet Diana again. I know that it'll be a long road for us, as I'm not capable of love, but all I know is that I love her, and she isn't going to be with anyone else but me.

Diana's Point of View

I had finally reached the pack house with my mother, Vivian, and Gemma, where everyone else was working. My mom had gone off to find my father, who was probably stressing out in his office upstairs. Gemma and I sat down on the couch, and we were talking about Supernatural when Devin came up to us. "Hey, Devin!" said Gemma, unaware of the situation that had occurred yesterday afternoon. "Hey, Gem! Hey Diana," mumbled Devin. What's gotten into him? Can he just drop the act already?

I was about to reply to Devin when my father mind-linked me, informing me to come up to his office. As I was walking up the stairs, I started to ponder on what he could possibly want me for. I do respect my father, but he hasn't been the nicest this week. I just want everything to go back to normal.

I peeked through the crack of the door to make sure that he wasn't occupied, and walked in, seeing that no one was sitting in the chairs. I was greeted by my father, with a nervous look on his face. Hesitantly, he said, "Listen. Diana. I apologize for not being there for you guys at home. I've gotten word that an alpha of a neighboring pack's daughter has been murdered, and I've teamed up with him to try and figure out who would commit the crime. I want to keep you safe, Diana. You're a perfect target: 18, beautiful, and you haven't been marked. Your mother says that I'm over-reacting, but I just want to make sure that you're alright. Do you understand?"

My feet were frozen in their place as I let all of those words soak in. Everything made sense now. I felt like I owed my father an apology for not speaking to him about this. I brought him into a hug, and whispered, "It's okay, dad. I understand, but please don't stress out too much. My birthday is tomorrow, and I know that you have tight security. Besides, who will mess with our pack when Alpha Giovanni is here?" He chuckled at this, easing into my touch. I was about to say something else until Devin had mind-linked my father and I, informing us that Giovanni had arrived with his pack members.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous, as this is the most feared man in werewolf history. Girls at my school drooled over him, but I didn't know that wanting to mate with ruthless killers was the new trend. He did have a nice build, and he is a very handsome man, but I'd feel bad for any girl that has to put up with him for any length of time. I've heard that he is very reserved. You know the saying, "Silent but deadly"? That's the category that Alpha Giovanni falls in. When he speaks, everyone cowers under his voice, and I figured that my dad would succumb and do this as well.

I was too consumed in my thoughts to realize that I was already walking down the stairs alongside my father. As we neared the front door, my wolf started to get giddy. I wanted to pretend that everything was alright to not worry my pack members, but this feeling made me extremely nervous. What was going to greet us on the other side of that door?

My mother was now beside me as we stepped out of the pack house. I was greeted with the most heavenly scent that had ever graced this territory. It was a scent of spice and pine, and I didn't ever want it to go away.

I tried to find where the scent was coming from, and my eyes paused on a figure who had already spotted me. His gaze was burning into my head as I felt the blood rush to my cheeks- this man was gorgeous. I knew who he was the second I saw him- it was Alpha Giovanni.

For some odd reason, I didn't feel any fear towards him, when on the other hand, I could practically smell the fear of some of the pack members rolling off their body. I quickly snapped out of my trance, and threw him a cold glare, as I realized that he was giving me the nastiest look a wolf could give. I could hear the growl that came out of his mouth, and I could tell that his wolf was surfacing. I smirked, knowing the effect that I had on him. His eyes gradually turned into a pitch black color, which was a wall covering the emotions that werewolves could see through your eyes. Only Alphas that were extremely powerful could control their emotions like that.

We both snapped our heads to my father, who had said, "Welcome, Alpha. I'm glad that you could make it." I didn't miss the cautious, stiff tone in his voice as he said this. Ignoring it, I looked at my manicured nails, hoping that I would just disappear.

As Giovanni made vague conversation with my dad, his eyes never left my figure- I could feel him looking up and down my body. I looked unamused, but Vivian on the other hand was head over heels for the God standing a couple of feet away from us. The sight of this made my wolf growl with displeasure for my sister. I know that she had no clue that Giovanni was my mate, but how could she look at a male like that when her mate is out there? I don't get girls sometimes.

"Xavier, (The alpha, aka Diana's dad) I would like to talk to you in your office," said Alpha Giovanni. I didn't have any time to think about what they'd be discussing, as Gem had already been dragging me by the hand, eager to go shoe shopping with me. I don't know how it happens, but Gemma is always dragging me out of situations that I don't want to be in. As we got into my jeep, I gave Giovanni a wink as he stepped into the pack house, sparing one last glance of me. What have I gotten myself into?
