To some its a day to love a mother, the one who gave you life
To others its a day to love your lover, the woman you made your wife
To the adopted its a day to love the lady, who took you in as her own
To the homeless its a day to love that lady, and finally pick up that phone
To the college students it's a day to give her all kinds of thanks
To the bad kids its the one day you give her where you don't have to get spanked
But for me... Oh for me, its two weeks full of pain
Just another day to remind me that I lost what I had gained
14 days resembles each and every one of the stab wounds
That the bastard handed her with a baby in the womb
Its a day that I have to force a smile
Since I haven't been able to give my own mom a gift in a while
Its a day that I would love the lady that adopted me
The day I could give to that lady who made me somebody
But she too was taken away from me
Not by the hands of murder, she left peacefully
Mothers day for me is a reminder of something I will never have again
