Derrick POV
I was happy Jordynn stayed the night. Having her next to me was nice. I headed down the steps. I was going to make breakfast. I reached in the fridge and pulled out eggs and bacon. I reached in the cabinet and grabbed the blueberry waffle mix and the waffle maker.
"Daddy what you making?" Zi asked rubbing his eyes and climbing in the chair at the island.
"You'll see when it's done. You wanna help?" I asked him mixing the waffle mix in a bowl. I grabbed a pan and put a couple slices of bacon in the pan.
"Yeah, What do you want me to do?" he asked excitedly.
"You can finish mixing this waffle mix." I handed him the bowl and tended to the bacon.
I plugged the waffle maker up and poured some on the griddle and closed the lid.
Just as I was finishing the eggs Jordynn came downstairs.
"It smells good down here I'm suprised you didn't burn the place down. " She said laughing
I made the plates and everyone ate. Jordynn said she would do the dishes. While she was doing that Zi said he wantes to go to the park. I sent him upstairs to get cleaned up. I went to the kitchen and stood in the door way. Jordynn was really beautiful.I was imagining life with her being mines. I was so deep in thought I didn't notice her staring back at me.
"Well damn can you stop looking at me creep?" she said screwing up her face and laughing.
"I'm sorry but I just can't help but notice how you're just so god damn ugly. I mean I seen ugly chicks before but you a different kind of ugly. I mean like forreal you look like a stinkbug or some shit." I said laughing. It's funny to get a reaction out of her.
"Hahaha very funny." She said turning back to finish up the diahes.
"Awee I'm sorry babygirl." I walked to her and picked her up and put her on the counter.
"Put me down and leave me alone." She crossed her arms on her chest,put her head down and poked her bottom lip out.
She's so cute when she does that.
I was standing in between her legs.
"Are you seriously mad at me? I was just joking." I said laughing. My stomach was hurting.
She looked up at me and started smiling.
"Get away from me." She tried pushing me away.
We was wrestling on the counter. She hit me in the stomach and I acted like I was hurt.
"Punk ass you ain't even hurt." She said laughing.
"Yes I am I think I need a kiss to feel better."
She leaned up to kiss my cheek but I turned my face and our lips met. At first she was hesitant but she gave in. I kissed alot of girls but this kiss was different. Like a nigga really felt sparks or some shit.
She pulled away and looked at me. I tried to read her expression but I couldn't.
"Maybe I should get going." She jumped of the counter and grabbed her purse and phone and left out the front door.
Damn maybe that was a bad idea.
Jordynn POV
Damn maybe I shouldn't have just left like that. It's not that I didn't want to kiss him but it felt weird. The only person I ever kissed was Rashad. I felt guilty cause in a sense I felt like I was cheating even though Rashad was gone I still considered myself in a relationship. I was in deep thought and my phone rung.
"You have a collect call from Ace. To accept the call press 0 or hang up."
I pressed 0 and waited for the call to connect.
"Yo yo yo wassup sis?"
"Nothing much you?"
"Chilling ready to get out this bitch man. I miss home and shit. Ain't shit to do but think up in here. But how was the appointment the other day?"
"Maybe It's good for you to think. That way when you get out your ass will make smarter choices. But it was good and I found out we're having a girl."
I smiled at the thought or a little me running around here although I had a strong feeling she was going to look and act just like Rashad.
"That's wassup. I'm looking forward to meeting my neice. Make sure your ass taking care of yourself and shit Jordy. No stress or none of that shit."
"I am. I know what I need to do boy you ain't gotta tell me. Shit sounding just like another Rashad." I said laughing
"Well he ain't here so I need to make sure you good. But Imma let you go. I love you and be careful."
"I love you too."
I hung up the phone. As I was pulling into the complex I seen a black escalade in my parking spot. I got out and knocked on the window.
He rolled down the window and smoke blew out of it. I fanned it out my face.
"Excuse me sir but this is my parking spot." I said with my hand on my hip.
"Damn lil bit why you gotta be sounding all mean all the damn time?"
He rolled down the window some more and I got a good look at him. He looked so familiar.
"Oh my gosh Ty!" I screamed I practically pulled him out the window. I haven't seen him in years. He was in jail for selling to an undercover. They gave him 15 years. I thought he had another 3 years until he could come home.
Ty POV
My moms was the only person who knew I was coming home early. I told her not to tell Jay. I wanted to suprise her. My mom been keeping me updated on her and all the other bullshit going on. I talked to my mom the day after Jay left home. I was pissed she just let her go. She even told me when Rashad passed.We was cool that was my nigga. I was fucked up when she told me that shit. I knew they were close as fuck so she was going through it too.My mom would try to call her on 3 way when I would call but she never answered.We figured we should just let her have her moment.
"Damn can I get out the car?" I laughed as I opened the door and hopped out.
She hugged me again. I felt her tears wetting the front of my shirt.
"Nigga I know you ain't crying?"
She looked up at me.
"I thought you had 3 more years?" She said whiping her eyes.
"I did but I got out on good behavior. But is we gonna stand outside all day or are you going to invite a nigga in?"

I still couldn't believe he was home. My brother was right here in flesh and blood.
