Today we went out shopping. Rick needed a defraculator for his work. And I was allowed to wonder around, left to my own devices. Alien shops are pretty interesting, so even though I sometimes complain about our adventures, it's actually pretty fun when someone isn't trying to kill us. It often happens. Plus, aliens have really good ice-cream. Probably the best ever, actually.

After finishing, Rick and I returned to the lab.

"Hey Morty." Said Rick suddenly. It scared me half to death, and suddenly it happened again.

"You little retard, come back!"

"No!"

"Morty, come on! Get over this already!"

"Stop!"

"Look, Grandpa d-didn't mean to leave you behind, okay?"

"You did!"

"Did not."

"You did, you selfish fucking prick! You left Mom, you left me, you left everyone!"

"You don't understand! I left 'c-c-AUGH-ause I had to-"

"You left because you couldn't face what you did to Grandma! YOU KILLED HER!"

He stopped talking. I'd learnt from years of living with him to NEVER mention Grandma, and I'd finally figured out why.

I suddenly felt afraid. Rick's face was purple. His fists were clenched. I didn't even see it coming. All I could feel was searing pain.

"Morty!" Him. Once again, he had snapped me out of it.

"Morty, are you okay?" He asked, concerned.

"Why do you care? I sobbed.

"Cause I'm your grandpa, Morty. I c-"

"You don't."

"I do."

"You DON'T!"

"I Do-urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

That was enough.

I punched him in the face, feeling my fist burn as it hit metal. It fell to the floor, collapsing in an unnatural position. Panting, I knelt down beside the robot. I tried to ignore the screams as I lugged it into the building.

*I'm just like him*

"No."

*I'm a Monster*

"Stop."

Monster.

That's what I am.
