The peace or the pain.
I had made my decision to let go, I had fulfilled my destiny. Kept everyone safe. I could die in peace.
"Ella get your royal backside out of bed." Ethan grumbled turning off our alarm clock, rudely awaking me from my sleep.
I turned my head into my pillow blocking out the light my head ached like every other morning, I was beginning to grow accustomed to the roaring sensation in my forehead, take a few tablets every couple of hours and the pain goes away. Yet the nightmare doesn't.
"Ella it's ten to eight get a move on!" he called up the staircase. Dragging myself out of the solidity of my bed,I grabbed my freshly ironed shirt and black pleated skirt and underwear and picked up my towel off the radiator. After showering and getting dressed, I rang Chloe telling her I'd meet her at the bus stop in 5 minutes. Well, it was more like 10 but she knows that for whatever time I say to double that.
"Ethan can you give. Me a lift !?" I shouted as he entered our room whilst I dried my hair and tamed it slightly.
"Sure thing ..." He grumbled pulling a shirt out of our wardrobe and pulling it over his head. I grabbed my blazer, tie and bag and slipped on my shoes all in one swift movement.
My luscious red headed best friend awaited me at the bus stop as Ethan pulled up on the opposite side of the road in his black Volvo. Swooping out of the car I quickly kissed his unshaven cheek and clambered across the road waving at Chloe as I went. All that I received from this token of my affection was a very stern glare as some rather nice looking 6th formers walked past us.
Once they were out of ear shot she glared at me before we both began laughing hysterically.
"Morning!" I finally managed giving her a quick hug.
"Morning," she finally managed as we began walking down the hill to the hell hole, that some really sad people like to call high school.
First is formal register, that we just all call form.
I scanned my eyes across the classroom, the autumn term was nearly over and I stood on my tip toes to see over the mass of people standing in their little friendship groups. Me and Chloe walked over to the group of boys in the corner by the lockers.
What I loved about my form was that it was so simple. It wasn't diverse, it was all one sort of people in one room together, no conflicts, no trouble, it was all just calm, peaceful.
"Morning babe..."hands sneaked around my best friends waist, making me feel sick. Ok. Maybe I loved my form, all but with one major exception. Nick. I hated his guts, like no one I had ever hated before. Trust me when I say that, I am not the sort of person that makes snap judgements but he's just one of the most horrible men I know. He's a player and he's been out with practically all of the girls in our year, all except me. He's like fire, and as the saying goes, you play with fire and you're gonna get burned. The thing that worries me is that Chloe isn't only playing with the fire. Chloe is snogging the fires face off. She's going to get hurt one way or another, no matter how I try to tell her, she doesn't listen.
"Morning!" Chloe smiled as they kissed, I suppose she enjoys the constant company. They've been going out 1 month tonight I was supposed to remember to ring up the badgers paw to book a reservation for 4 tonight... Ooops.
"Good morning Ella..." He smiled nodding at me slyly. Again. He's a creep. No words.
I nodded as I sat on the table, with my feet on the chair and texted Jace.
Me: 'Hey where abouts are you? Xxxxxxx'
Jace: 'At the office babe. Be up in a min. Xxxxxxxx
