Kate woke screaming from her horrible nightmare. Dean hugged her close immediately and turned so anything that was about to come would hit him instead. He looked down at her after he realized there was no danger.

She looked scared, no, terrified. "What's wrong Kate!?" He asked in a hushed tone. She shook her head and looked away. She looked anywhere but Dean.

He sat down beside her. "Kate? What's wrong?"

"Nothing Dean... I thought you were- Forget it." She didn't want to talk about this with him... 'Not right now. Your going to run away once you fine out. I just know you are.' she thought to herself.

Dean cupped his hands, cradling her face to kindly make her look at him. Kate looked like an abused puppy with tears in her eyes.

Dean was shocked. He then said soft but stern "Kate, did someone hurt you?"

She looked down at her hands in her lap. Tears streaming down her face silently. Right then Dean knew the answer. He knew because he had seen the exact facial expression in the mirror thousands of times.

"What hap-" he was cut off. "Dean, I was molested by my cousin.!" She almost screamed it. Kate looked up at Dean her face showing all of her emotions, mostly scared and frustrated, almost like before. She was about to loose him and she just couldn't take it.

She can't function normally because of her cousin. She noticed it in herself and she hated it. The way she cringes slightly at the word rape or molest, the way no one can grab her wrists with out her having a panic attack, even the way she sleeps -curling up to cover her chest and between her legs with her arms. She hated it and she hated herself for letting it break her down.

Deans mouth dropped open then he hugged her tight. "Listen to me. You are a wonderful woman, and I am so sorry that happened to you. It's not right. I'm so sorry."

Kate broke down in his arms. She was having another episode of self-hatred. "your going to leave-" she was cut off by a sob.

Dean rocked her back and forth trying to comfort her. "Shhhh it's okay. I won't leave you. I promise."

At this she looked up into his brilliant green eyes. They were a little glossy but kind and caring. 'We had barely met and I just told Dean my deepest darkest secret. And he didn't run away.'

A smile crept it's way on Kate's face. Suddenly all the self-hatred disappeared and left her with Dean and his sad yet amazing smirk that had made it's way onto his face.
