((Oh my god an authors note. First time for everything. Anyways, Simon's and Sam's translations are at the bottom, have fun!))
"Du musst besser spielen, wir verlieren schon wieder!" Simon almost punched the buttons on his controller.
"Shut it I'm trying!" The two Sharps had already replayed this level dozen of times, they just couldn't beat the Boss.
"Das sieht mir nicht nach- Hey du stehst mir im Weg!"
They were going back and forth with their argument.
But what else is new when the two of them decided to play an old game they found in the attic that nobody has touched in years?
It usually goes down like this:
Once the start struggling at a boss fight or a stage, they start arguing and tell each other to be better at the game.
And they do that until they either eventually beat the boss or one of them rage quits.Thankfully this time it was the former.
"Oh FINALLY!" The older cheered as she let herself flop on the carpet.
"Dafür brauch ich keine Übersetzung. Oh man hat das lang gedauert." Simon went ahead and saved the game before turning off the console.
That moment his older sister Sam walked into the room. Seeing her wife laying on the floor, controller still in hand, she asked: "Finally beat it?"
Luna shot her a thumbs up. "Yep."
"Huh?" Simon asked with a questioning look on his face. His english was still a bit shaky.
Sam looked at him. "Alter, du bist fast 21 und kannst immernoch kein Englisch? Wo warst du eigentlich in der Schule?!"
Simon groaned. "Man komm mir jetzt bitte nicht mit Schule."
His older sister shook her head. "Anyways, mom said the countdown starts soon! Wouldn't wanna miss it would ya?" She asked her wife and, after translating the sentence, Simon.
He left to go help in the kitchen last minute, so the girls had a moment alone in the living room.
"I'm glad you two get along so well! And to think I used to be worried when you first visited." Sam told Luna.
"Yeah he's chill, he reminds me of Lincoln a bit!" She smiled. "But seriously that boss was hard."
Sam shifted her gaze to their console. "What were you playing anyways?" She asked.
"Oh, Spider-Man Friend or Foe."
The blonde looked at her amused. "That game isn't hard. I beat it on my own in a day!"
Luna stuck out her tounge and gave her a light punch on the arm before getting up.
"I'm really excited to spend this New Years with my wife!~" They had gotten married earlier this year. "But you know... I'm still worried about where we're gonna live... we could live here or over in America. I just don't know man."
She felt arms wrap around her waist as Sam leaned on her shoulder. "We'll figure that out together... But we could also blow both of it and move to England." The of them laughed.
"So anyways, Mrs. Sharp, would you like to set up some fireworks with me outside before the countdown reaches zero?" Sam asked, already waving the lighter back and forth.
Luna smiled and picked up the firecrackers standing in the corner. "I thought you'd never ask~"
She gave her wife a quick peck on the cheek before rushing outside, Sam following close behind with a bottle and the lighter.
Simon and Sam's parents soon followed as to not miss the New Year celebration shenanigans.
And not miss squealing over their daughter finally getting her first proper new years kiss as soon as midnight struck and the night sky was illuminated by bright lights and colorful explosions that could take ones's breath away.
((And now, the translations.
Simon: "You have to play better, we're loosing again!"
Simon: "It doesn't look like- Hey you're standing in my way!"
Simon: "I don't need a translation for that. Man that sure took long."
Sam: "Dude, you're almost 21 and you still can't understand english? Where were you in school?!"
Simon: (You can't literally translate that one, so here's what it means) Man don't pull the school card on me." (Or alternativly) "Hey don't talk to me about school right now."Thank you, have a goodnight!))
