"Oopsies" I say to myself as I drop my sketchbook on the stained sidewalk while trying to untangle my headphones. I pick it straight up not wanting to ruin any of my drawings.
Walking with my music blasting in my ears I search New York to find that one perfect something to draw. Out of all the things this city holds I never seem to find what im looking for.
Quiting for the day I walk straight to my apartment I share with my best friend, Jordan. Jordan is a sophmore in college who has always been my bestfriend ever since I was in sixth grade. Me on the other hand, im just starting my senior year in high school.
"Im home." I yell out when I walk through the door. Walking straight passed the living room and into the kitchen. I peel the sticky note off the fridge. 'Gone for class -J xx'.
Tossing the note in the trash I continue to look through the fridge for something to eat. I grab the left over spaghetti and meatballs from last night.
Waiting for the food to heat up in the microwave i grab my phone out of my pocket and scroll through my instagram liking about every picture of a cute boy i see on my feed.
Giggling at a video of a kitty cat and dog playing together, the microwave beeps and I get up a little too happy to get my food.
As i'm about to take my first my bite my phone buzzes on the table, groaning I answer the unknown number.
"Hello?" I ask shoving spaghetti in my mouth.
"Kelli Lucas?" A man's voice says a little too loud through the reciever.
"Speaking" I answer holding the phone away from my ear.
"Kelli it's your father," he spoke " I got a new phone i'm not quite sure how to work this thing can you hear me?" He says as he speaks louder.
"Yes Dad oh my god stop screaming, you'll deafen me," I respond "What kind of phone did you get anyway?"
"One of those touch phones that all you kids have and seem to get a kick out of, but honestly im not very impressed." He explains.
"So is there a reason you interrupted me from eating my spaghetti?" I joke.
"Can a Dad not call to see how his daughter is doing?" he laughs on the other side of the line.
"Not when he calls and interrupts something special." I giggle.
"Sorry your spaghetti is more important," he laughs "Alright munchkin I'll text you later before bed okay?"
"Okay, love you Dad" I respond.
"Love you more." He hangs up. Sighing to myself I finish off the rest of spaghetti and meatballs on my plate. Checking the clock I notice I have twenty more minutes until Jordan's class is over so I decide to walk and pick her up and on my way I stop and pick up two coffees, mine black of course, from a little coffee shop not too far away from NYU.
Stopping at the entrance I text her to let her know i'm here so I dont end up waiting for no reason. Just as I put my phone away, three boys walking by whistle and stare at me, causing me to mentally throw up in my mouth.
Just as i'm about to consider putting the coffee down and throwing up the middle finger, my best friend comes strutting out of the gates waving and smiling like an idiot.
"What are you smiling at weirdo." I joke.
"You'll never guess what happened today," She starts "The cutest boy ever asked me on a date!" She squealed
"No way." I say sarcastically.
"Yes way," she rolls her eyes "And I might have possibly said that you were single and would love to double date with his friend to a movie with us" She spits out all at once.
"No no no, I will not."
"Please, pretty please. He'sreally cute."She tries to bribe.
"How do you know? Have you met him?" I question.
"Well, no, but-"
"No way in hell." I cut her off.
"You are so stubborn, but either way you're going." She confrims.
"We'll see." I end the conversation taking a sip of my coffee.

Later laying in bed I pull out my laptop and scroll down the endless pictures of celebrities to choose as my next victum to draw. Settling on a really cute picture of Zac Efron, I start sketching away. In the middle of shading my phone lights up with Jordan's name on it.
"What do you want Jay? You're in the room right next to me." I state the obvious.
"Can you make me a pizza?" She pouts over the line.
"Do you honestly want me using the oven again?" I state remembering the last time I tried to cook pizza but forgot about it 30 minutes later.
"Never mind I'll just get one delivered," she decides "Plain or pepperoni?"
"Half and half?"
"Okay." She agrees hanging up the phone.
While I finish up the drawing, the pizza guy get here in less than twenty minutes.
"I got it." I yell out to Jordan, knowing she's too lazy to get up and answer the door. I open up the door to a boy with green eyes and curly locks hidden under his red pizza delivery hat.
"Uh hi," He smiled awkwardly at me "Thirteen ninety-five" he gestures torwards the pizza.
"Oh yeah, right," I break eye contact and dig a twenty out of my pocket "Here ya go." He trades the pizza for the money. While I put the pizza on the counter the boy digs in his pocket wrapped around his waist for change .
"I dont have a nickle." He shyly admits smiling with his accent rolling off his tongue.
"Thats okay," I giggle "You keep the change."
"One nickle less from being broke." He jokes making me roll my eyes and giggle.
"I'll see you." I say sweetly.
"Yeah," He says turning as I start close my door admiring his butt in his khaki pants as he walks down to the hallway to the elevator.
"Ooh pizza." Jordan says opening the box, not even bothering to get plate.
"You should have seen the pizza guy," I tell her "Very easy on the eyes" I say giggling getting my own slice of pizza.
