Next Morning:

I slowly woke up to find that Marie and Oliver were missing. Being the person I am, I jumped up and looked around frantically. No sign of her. 'Oh no. Where is she?! Oh my God what if--- no. No nononono. NO. Don't think like that. She's probley in the next room. Calm down.' But she wasn't. The room was empty beside the "TV" (as she called it.). I started to panic now, I failed. My little girl is gone and probley dead because of my foolish mistake. Then suddenly a noise came from a room, that I haven't ever been in before. The door opened and Marie walked out, with Oliver not too far behind. I breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at her with a good morning type of gesture. She laughed and picked up Oliver.

"Good morning to you too, Sky! I have to tell you some--" suddenly a loud growl came from somewhere inside me. It rumbled and caused me to fall over in pain for a second, like my stomach was flipping. Marie looked at me with her big concerned eyes.

"You need to eat........ I think I have a ham in the fridgerator still." She giggled and ran into the kitchen before me. Opening a big white box things door and pulling a huge piece of ... food... out. It smelt better than nothing at all. I took it from her with care and turned away from her to eat, afraid of what she would think of me eatting. The huge piece of meat was gone in a matter of seconds, and so was my growling. But the I heard another rumble. Not from me.... but from Marie or Oliver. She blushed slightly and hugged her stomach.

"I was going to tell you..... that we'll need more food." She murmured with a shy little smile. I produced a chuckle and crawled over to the little girl. I sat while she stood in front of me, and pondered on how to get food. I could always hunt animals? Suddenly Marie started talking again.

"There's a little grocery story right down the block. Full of food, I'm sure. And the best thing is no one is there probley!! Free food!!" She leaned down and smiled at me with a happy look in her eyes, that I was glad to see for once.

"Maybe..... you could go down there and get somethings and bring it back. Me and Oliver will be safe. We'll hide in the closet thing again!!" Marie's brown eyes got bigger and more hopeful as she spoke. 'Maybe I should do this.... they'll be fine. I'm sure of it.' I nodded and smiled at her, getting up and gesturing that she should go ahead and hide. Which she did and I quickly had a regret. 'What if I don't survive..... what will she do?!' I shook my head and frowned. 'That wont happen.' Barely getting the window open, I slid out and pulled the window down as I fell to the street. 'Piece of ....... cake?' I looked around and noticed how vacant the streets were. No one was here. It had to be just me and Marie left. No worries! With that thought, I made my way towards the way she pointed, without any worries. Strangely the sky had changed colors, no longer was it the bright blue that Marie said it was, now it was foggy, or muggy if you will. Humans are dying left and right, they must of not had time to cut off their weird machines and stuff. A small building soon stood in front of me with a overwhelming smell of meat, blood and food. Guessing, I figured this is probley the "grocery store" Marie was talking about. The doors were open to the entrance, so I walked in carelessly. I felt at least ten pairs of eyes turn towards me as I walked down one straight alley thing, with food on the shelves. The eyes followed me, either afraid of me or warning me to leave. I couldn't tell, there was only groans and an occasional growl. Which I couldn't understand what they were saying. Finally, I found what Marie called Ham and some other meats, laying in a big cold machine. The groans got louder as I picked up three hams and then grabbed a few can things and then a few other items I didn't know what to call. Suddenly, a human appeared beside me, groaning. Something clicked in my head, That's not a human. Its a regular infected. The annoying ones, go Now!! That's all I needed to jump up onto the top of the shelves and trot out of the store quickly. There was no need to get my self into any trouble. With the food still in my arms I headed home with no problems. Except for when I got to the safe place Marie was in. The window was open..... My stomach turned quickly. 'Oh no. What happened? Who's in there?' I thought, staring up at the window. A scream came from it and I shuddered, then took action. I jumped through the window and quickly dropped the food, ready for a fight. It was quiet now, through the whole building. I felt a sudden fear plunge through me, 'What is they killed her and Oliver already!! Am I too late?' I sneaked forward and noticed the front door was open too. My anger got the best of me now, I made a deep throated growl that went on until I heard a soft sobbing. It made me stop for a second and then I went forward towards the weird sound. On the floor, laying in a heap was Marie. Oliver stood over her body, hissing at the sobbing noise in the corner. I bent down looked at Marie with great concern, only to find out she was dead. Her chest was bleeding greatly and probley was not going to stop, I stayed there in shock for a second. 'Why? Grrrrr..... WHY? WHY HER? SHE DIDNT DO ANYTHING WRONG.. SHE'S JUST A LITTLE GIRL!' My angry turned to a furious state, which I had to do something quickly. I turned towards the sobbing noise with the scariest noise I have ever made, come out my mouth. It stopped sobbing and growled back at me, warning me to go away. I didn't leave, I crouched down even lower. Glaring at the creature I couldn't see. It stood up in its corner, making a angry sound that didn't scare me at all. Then It stepped towards me, one step. Enough for me to see it was a witch. And with that I pounced at her. Landing perfectly on her. I lost control of what little I had and ripped at her face and body. Just like she had to Marie. The witch struggled underneath me, her arms where held down by my knees to the point she couldn't use her claws. She was as good as dead now. Her weird blood splattered my face and clothes, making me hungry again. Then another surprise came along. It hit me in the face, knocking me backwards. Allowing the witch to barely get up and leave crying. The thing pounced on top of me, holding me down. Controlling me. It didn't scratch me or damage me, it just held my arms and legs down. I noticed something loud was pounding in my ears as I calmed down, it scared me. Looking over, I noticed I was laying right next to Marie. Her brown eyes stared at me, with a new light in them. She smiled a little.
