Long Distance Love [a Niall Horan fanfic]

Chapter 16

I stood at the open car door with tears rolling down my face. I picked up the "N" necklace from my chest gave it a kiss and waved. I felt numb and unable to step in the car. Suddenly we were driving away. Niall stood there waving as we drove off into the distance. I saw him wipe his face and I knew he was crying. His figure disappeared and I turned around and burried my face in my pillow. Off to the airport we go. My parents didnt say a word the whole way and I was thankful. I was not in the mood for talking. I felt miserable. We arrived at the airport and I carried my pillow and the few other things I could bring along. Catching people staring at me the whole way through made me kind of uneasy but I didnt care. Not like Im ever going to see any of them ever again. It took us about 45 minutes to fly back home. I slept the whole way not wanting to think about anything anymore.

Driving up to the house comforted me. Seeing the sight of that brown house with the hedge on the outside made me smile for the first time I had in hours. I hear the mumbles of my parents talking but I had completely tuned them out. I got out of the car, gathered my suitcase and other bags and went straight to my room unpacking. I dont think it was physically possible for me to cry anymore. My eyes were so dry and hurt went I blinked. I put everything back where it belonged and layed down on my fuzzy green rug on the floor. Green. That is his favorite colour.

"Serena, Im home"

"Im coming over" she texted back instantly. The amazing thing about us is that we live right next door to eachother and can get together whenever we want. I heard he footsteps enter my house and run straight up to my room. She rushed in and picked me up off the floor and gave me the biggest hug ever. The sight of her gorgeous curls, perfect face and tanned skin cheered me up "I missed you so much!" she said giving me the biggest squeeze "So did I!" I relpied. I was so excited to see her. If anyone could put me in a good mood it was her. She pulled away and looked me in the eyes. She knew I had been crying the whole time, I looked down at the ground so she wouldnt have to see how red my eyes were "Chin up" she took her index finger and made me look at her. "Tell me everything"

I started to tell her about all the fun times we had. I told her how every evening we would hang out and we did so many different things. We played soccer in my yard, had fires, sang to eachother, had holding breath contests, and so many more fun things that it would take a whole day to explain. I told her about yesterday and everything that happened. I finished with the events that took place this morning and she started to cry along with me. "He sounds amazing Harmony, Im so glad you two met" I nodded and dried up my tears and she did the same. These next few days are going to be so hard.
