Ready For a Fight

Kuai Liang and his disciple walked out of the temple to pray With many Lin Kuei soldiers behind them. They went in front of the statue and kneeled. "Now, remember your teachings, my student." Liang reminded the young man next to him. "Yes Grandmaster." The boy replied. "You, I need t..." A boy said but was cut off by the girl next to him. "You are not welcome here. State your intentions." Liang told the intruders. The girl walked ahead of her group. "Grandmaster. We need you to come with us. My name is sergeant..." She was cut off by Lin Kuei soldiers unsheathing swords, coming out of hiding, and surrounding the four intruders. Kuai Liang stood up alongside his student and they looked at the four who were ready for a fight. "You demand my cooperation. Yet you are cut off. Surrounded. What will you do?" He asked. "My father always spoke highly of you Sub-Zero. He wants to talk." The girl told him. "Talking. Always his first choice." Liang said walking closer. "Okay... Let's try pummeling. Now!" With that, three of the four broke into a fight. "Wait." Cassie said. Liang nodded his head. "Now Jun." He told his student. "Defeat Cassandra Cage." Jun nodded and ran over. He kicked Cassandra in the ribs and went for a punch but it was blocked and she hit him with a baton in the face. She did it four times until Jun grabbed it and his hand started heating up. It weakened enough that he twirled his hand and broke the end off. He punched her twice in the stomach and flipped her on her back. She got up and did the splits and was about to punch him in the balls, but he moved back and roundhoused her head knocking her out of the fight. "Now take out Kung Jin." Liang told him while fighting the other boy. He already took out the other girl. Jun ran at Jin with a punch and knocked him to the ground. Jin grabbed an arrow and stabbed Jun in the shoulder and hit him with his bow. Jun hit the ground. He got up on one knee and grabbed the arrow and pulled it out. He heated his hand up and seared the wound closed. He groaned and he cooled his hand down and stood up. "Ah. A pyromaniac huh? This'll be fun." Jin said. He punched at Jun but they kept getting blocked. Finally Jun had enough and went on the offensive. He punched Jin in the stomach, stabbed him in the shoulder with the arrow, he punched him six times in the head, and flipped Jin over his shoulder and kicked his head, taking him out. Jin was picked up by Lin Kuei and kneeled by his partners facing the temple. The other three looked at him. "Any ideas?" Jin asked. "Sub-Zero... Let's talk." Cassandra pleaded. "That opportunity has passed." Liang said as Jun walked beside him. "You attacked us. We just wanted to know what you would do. But you provoked the men." Jun said. "Got a new plan, Cage?" Jin asked smartly. "You could've followed the old one, Jin." The girl next to Cassandra said. "You're gonna catch hell if you kill us..." Cassandra told the Grandmaster. Liang walked closer. He didn't say anything for a few moments. "Yes. I suppose so." He finally said. He looked at a soldier. "Chuo! Dangjin!" He shouted. The soldier pulled out a blade and cut the ropes off the intruders' wrists. "That worked?" Cassandra asked. "No. I'd say not." Jun told them. Then there was a whistle. The five looked over to see the man known as Johnny Cage on the top step of the temple. He waved. "This was all a... a." "A training exercise." Liang finished as the four stood up. "Damn. I shoulda seen it..." Cassandra said. "You and your friends show much promise, Cassandra Cage. But until you function as one... You will fall short." Liang told them. "But as of this day, you shall have a new member." "What? Why weren't we informed?" Cassandra asked. "Cause we just talked about it and I think we need more firepower." Johnny said. "Meet your new squadmate." He pointed straight at Jun. "Him?" Jin complained. "He stabbed me." "If he didnt, I would've." The second girl replied. "I'm Jacqui." "I am Kuai Jun. Son of the great Grandmaster Kuai Liang." Jun said and bowed. "Ok. I'm Cassie." Cassandra said. "Jin." She pointed at Jin. "And Takeda." She pointed at the second guy. "It is my pleasure to meet you." Jun said rising from the bow. Then He felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned his head and saw his father. "Bring the Lin Kuei honor." Liang told Jun. "Yes, father." Jun replied. They walked away. "So what kind of heat are ya packing?" Cassie asked. "I'm packing heat." Jun said raising his hand and making a fireball. He clenched his fist and it disappeared. "I think we'll get along just fine." Cassie told Jun with a chuckle and putting an arm on his shoulder.
