Chapter 17

After about a week I was feeling a lot better. My eyes could open and close without stinging, and they were no longer red and I could finally get some sleep! Every few days or so Niall would leave a cute message on my facebook wall and we both changed our relationship statuses to "In a relationship" which made me smile. I went out to the mall with Serena because it was coming up to back to school time and we needed some new clothes. We were having a great time, taking pictures and goofing off, along with making an occasional purchase. We were walking along when suddenly I saw Hayden Wilson.

I had a crush on this boy for at least three years. He was just about the best looking person in the whole school and I was always cursed with being in his class and struggling to pay attention. Sad thing was he thought of me as a friend and that was it. "Serena theres Hayden!" "Oh no please dont tell me you like him again.." she had the most disaproving look on her face "No, no you didnt let me finish.. I dont feel anything when I look at him anymore!" "Really!" She gasped excitedly "HALLELUJAH!" I gave her a stern look and then smiled because I was proud of myself. I had finally gotten over him. He started to walk in my direction and I was starting to get worried, wondering if he heard the whole thing! "Hey Harmony" he gave me an odd wink "Uh, hi Hayden.. Need something?" I questioned uninterested. His friends started to walk away snickering "Hey Serena, mind if I take her for a walk" she gave him a disgusted look and rolled her eyes "Whatever" she gave me a little shove and a look that said tell me everything.

I got up and he took me into one of the quietest parts of the mall. "How has your summer been?" he said nervously. "Great.. I had lots of fun" I said unsure of what was going on. He stopped walking and looked into my eyes longingly. What the hell is going on. I started to back up but soon found myself stopped by a cold marble wall. He brought his face really close to mine, "What are you doing" I struggled to escape. "I really like you" a smile appreared on his face and he crashed his lips into mine. I was not enjoying this. I turned my head to the side so that it would stop. I pushed my palms against his chest and started to yell "What are you doing!? You have never liked me" "I do now!" he tried to kiss me again but I moved to the other side of him "No you dont. I have a boyfriend. This cant happen" I said hurt that he would be doing this to me "I know you do, and I was jealous when I saw, now I know that I like you and want a chance." "Oh so now that Im taken you want me? Well thats not going to happen. You had your chance. I liked you for so long and now Im over you." He looked kind of hurt but walked towards me wrapping his arms around my waist. This did not feel right. This touch was not bringing me pleasure or giving me goosebumps like when Niall held me. This was revolting.  "He doesnt have to know," he gave a litle smirk. I pushed him and started to walk away. "Get a life Hayden, and stay out of mine" I stormed away, walking back to Serena. "Dirt bag" I mumbled flustered and frustrated. I never want to see his face again. I looked down at my "N" necklace and thought of Niall and how I wish he was here protecting me "forever and always babe" I whispered. I finally found Serena. I ran over ready to tell her everything.
