THE RUN AWAY
I leave my house at the same time every morning i drop my son Cain off at my best friends go to work and come home, it has been the same routine for nearly 3 years but today it changes, today i start to face all my demons. Its the start of a new chapter in mine and Cain's lives, its time to stop running.
I got up extra early this morning, i am not due into work till 11am but get up at 5am i need to pack, i throw some of my clothes into my suitcase, i also pack all scan pictures and pictures of when i was pregnant, yes you heard my right pregnant! Once i had sorted my things i go into Cain's room and start gathering some things.
Once i am done i sit in the chair and watch my son sleep, he is such a peaceful sleeper he gets that from his other dad and they both sleep in the same position. Cain soon wakes up and we go into the kitchen and have breakfast, we are soon in the car and its a short drive to my best friend amanda's house, once Cain is inside i drive off to work i get in at 11 dead on. i already told Amanda i would only be a hour today.
"Morning Edward" my boss smiles at me.
"Morning Sue can i please have a word in private"? She nods towards her office, i head in and wait after a few minuets i hear the door close and watch as Sue walks to her desk and sits down.
"Whats wrong Harry"? There it was that name Harry, not many people call me harry anymore there is only two people who know who i really am thats Sue my boss and her daughter Amanda, everyone else thinks i am Edward Cox i stopped being Harry Styles a long time ago.
I changed my name when i ran from the world, i up and left over night. "Sue i need to leave, its time i face things back home, i miss my family and the boys so much, i keep looking at Cain and thinking he will never know his family if i stay here, he deserves to know them, hey they deserve to know him, he is an amazing kid and they are missing out on him growing up". I look up and give her a soft smile.
"Wow harry, i wondered how long it was going to take you to realise that, of course you can leave, just be safe and keep Amanda safe please, i doubt she is going to let you do this on your own". She sits there with the smile still plastered on her face.
We both stand up i walk over to her and hug her. "Thank you i will keep in touch, and Amanda will always be safe with me, i am heading to hers now, i already have our things packed going to go get her and Cain".
After saying goodbye and promising to phone her soon i get in my jeep and drive to Amanda's, i already know she will say yes to coming with me. I pull up outside her house and press my horn, i sit and wait for them.
I kinda told Amanda a little white lie, she thinks we are going on holiday, eventually i see the front door open to reveal amanda and my sleeping son in her arms. I rush out the car to help her with Cain but when i go to take him she shushes me and goes to put him in his car seat, i grab the bags and put them in the boot and jump back in the jeep next to Amanda who is sat waiting.
"Mand before you start asking we are going to London, its about time i start telling the truth". By the huge grin on her face she knows what i am going to do.
"Its about bloody time, i was beginning to give up on you i thought you would have your head shoved up your ass for ever, glad you are thinking clearly now. I have a plan anyway we both know you haven't got one, i can tell by the look on your face i am right". Her grin never leaves her face.
"Please tell me your plan i have nothing i was just going to show up and say hi hence why we are going to London", well the plan sounds great in my head of course, i would be stupid to think it was good, i cant just show up after 3 years and say what "hi" and everything will be all happy.
