"I have terrible news, she couldn't make the heart transplant."Breaking down into tears, 15-year-old [Name] just lost her mother. Her father placed his hand over his mouth and rubbed his chin, lost into deep thought.
[Present]
With her mom passing away, [Name] slipped into a deep state of depression. Her father became an alcoholic and a lazed worker. He was the shell of what he once was. He would get so drunk that he would randomly start yelling and beating [Name] with whatever he could get his hands on.
[Name] would always run down to the basement and talk with Larry. He would get mad and say that she needed to move down there with him and his mom.
She said that it would put him and his mother in danger, and that's not what she wanted for them.
Larry didn't trust her father one bit but knew he was just a teenager up against an intoxicated adult.
After a few hours of hugs and cuddles with Larry, [Name] waved goodbye to Larry and went back to her apartment to see her father crying on the floor holding a knife to his chest."I can't even be there for my own daughter....."
[Name]'s eyes widened and she stared in shock.
"D-dad.....?"
She saw him flinch and drop the knife before getting up and dropping the knife.
"[N-Name]?"
His eyes were puffy and red from crying and he ran towards her. She froze to the spot as her father tackled her in a hug.
"I-I'm s-so sorry..... I can't be there for you. Now that I'm sobering up please understand that I love you."
Looking at the man in front of her,[Name] hugged her father back understanding the pain.
' please let this man become a better person...'
[Name] thought as she helped him up and placed him on the couch. She placed a glass of water nearby and left the room. She normally wouldn't do this but she got on her knees and looked out her open window.
" Mom, if you're there, please help me and dad send us your blessing from above. Every night I reread the stories me and you read and it always brings me closer to you. At times I feel as if you're almost right beside me. I beg that you send me an angel for my lonely nights while dad is away, I pray that this angel will understand what I go through every day and that they will help me through it. Yes, I have friends but they truly don't understand what I go through. PLEASE, send me anything."
Thinking about what she had just said, [ Name] thought it sounded dumb.
But what she didn't know
was that someone was listening.....
Sal sat on the roof listening to the wind as is blew through the night. The soft breeze tickled his feathered wings and caused a small shiver to run from his back to his heart. He heard a soft voice, almost as if they were on the verge of tears echoing through his mind. He stood up and pulled out his watch which then showed the figure of a girl praying.
From the information he gathered, she wanted a sign that her mother still cared. He then suddenly appeared by a ghostly figure in a beautiful garden.
"Why, Hello there Sal. "
" Mrs. [Last Name]...."
Sal got down on one knee and bowed before the woman who had summoned him.
{It was for respecting perposes}"Arise young one, its such a shame. You being accused of mass murder in your past life when you were just trying to protect the ones you loved."
Mrs. [Last Name] had the voice of a nightingale and the soft touch of silk. She placed a hand on the prosthetic mask that Sal wore.
" Your perfect for my daughter, you might have been a murder, but nobody remembers you except those who loved you. I send you with this flower to help her with her struggles.....
...
...
...
...
Thank you..."
Sal's vision left him and he felt the warmth of a body. He opened his eyes to see the young girl from earlier, though she looked a bit older now. Maybe two years older than the last time he had seen her? It had only been an hour since he left.
'Humans...'
He thought to himself. He looked at the hand that once held he flower but now was empty. He felt something dangling around his neck and notice a necklace with the flower crystallized.
'What is this?'
